Offering a refreshing, contemporary, and all-vegan Japanese cuisine, Sushi Momo is a sophisticated twist from traditional Japanese sushi. With 10 years of experience, chef Christian Manuel Ventura Alatorre opened Sushi Momo in December 2014, and has been getting much praise from day one. Christian's creations are both enjoyable and extremely creative. Christian wanted to give Montrealers the most options for vegan sushi in the entire city.

Modern & trendy! The restaurant has a really nice ambiance, & the service was great. The servers take time to explain each dish, which was informative. We took the degastation menu for $49/person. The food was pretty outstanding, especially the Tiradito (the "salmon" was exactly like salmon). The assortment or sushi was great, too, for a first tasting. Highly recommend the momochoco for dessert. Overall, it was a great night out with friends & for people who are vegan or pregnant.View more

Life changing sushi -- there is no other way to describe it. I've had several vegan sushi places that were fantastic but none were as inventive, as delicious, & as well put together as this. Especially the Sakura, the broccoli just ties everything's together with the build & sauce. Beyond this, the staff was insanely professional & helpful describing each sushi to detail. My friend dropped a chopstick & a nearby server replaced it in less than 10 seconds. Even if you eat meat, I think you'll have an unreal experience at this place. Highly highly, recommend!View more

I enjoyed all the food but I came with huge expectations given the 4.7 rating & I think that's a bit overrated. We had miso soup, gyozas, & 3 rolls: momo, queen of hearts...the sushi was good but not mind-blowing & the gyozas a bit salty. I'd recommend it though if you are veganView more

Absolutely delicious food. Probably some of the best sushi I have ever tasted. I usually eat fish, & am a big fan of sushi, so I was not sure that a restaurant serving exclusively vegan sushi would be for me. Boy was I wrong. It seems like you can order anything & it will be delicious! The service is nice, i'd only say that it is a bit long to get your plate but they were also very busy both times I have gone. The atmosphere is cozy, it's not too loud. I'd highly recommend this place for a date or a celebration!View more

Got lucky with a spot on the patio on a Friday night. Service was wonderful, staff were excited to present each item. Service was not quick but felt like a good pace to enjoy the different options. Everything was delicious, though many options feel like they are packing a lot of different flavours into a single roll. All in all we had a great time & would recommend this to anyone looking for good plant based options. We previously (2021) tried this restaurant as take-out & would recommend eating at the restaurant over take-out!View more

My friend & I ordered from sushi Momo last night, as there was a deal on Uber eats, & never having tried it before I was interested. I had no idea it was vegan until our order came. Let me tell you, this was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. I'm a die hard sushi lover, but this meal had me rethinking my love for fish, as it what so delicious being completely vegan. The variety of rolls I got, the flavour combinations & quality left us speechless! The Miso soup was also fantastic. 110% recommend & will be returning.View more

Vegan food at its finest! Incredible restaurant. My first time trying vegan food & I was so lucky I was able to try Momo Sushi. Super complex in flavour, I was intrigued! Extremely delicious food. A must go when in Montreal! Service was also excellent. The coworkers are super friendly & explain every dish. I had the Omakase menu & can only recommend. A fair amount of food (for me was more than enough) & the price is just excellent. Overall a wonderful experience. Congratulations to this incredible idea & the hard work!View more

Visited the dine in location today with my wife May 2024 & it was amazing. We are here on a trip from Hamilton, ON. We are vegetarian & this was hands down the best vegetarian sushi we have both ever eaten. The only thing that comes close is Tenon in downtown Toronto which is amazing this this is at another level when it comes to creativity, flavours & presentation. Overall this was an expert display of textures. I thought that every dish was a delicate combination of crunch, soft along with mixtures of umami, sweet, salty & spicy. For appetizers we got the Japanese Arancini which was hot crunchy & loved the sauces. Next for Futomaki we got the Chou-Chou (top row with yellow coating). We loved the tempura cauliflower inside. The middle row coated in avocado was the big momo which was my favourite - highly recommend. The bottom row was the GYU maki tempura which was also amazing. On the left edge was the Aubergine Falmbée (flamed eggplant) crispy rice - this one was amazing & the flammed eggplant created unique flavour that we never tasted before & was amazing. On the right edge was the avocat & ail noir (Avacado & Black garlic); my only comment would that this one tasted like a guacamole topping & perhaps next time I would try one of the other Cripsy rice Overall I thought it was amazing & was worth the price. I will be coming back here if I ever visit Montreal again & will be bringing friends & family here in the future. Service was great too considering we were English speakers. My only other comment would be that an English menu would be helpful as I kept having to enter the a picture onto Google translate.View more

Nice place over all ,nice music in the back ground & not too loud that you can't have a conversation,the staff was nice & welcoming,they did loose our confirmation & could not find our names in the system yet we called to book but other than that this Vegan sushi is probably the most best I town ,it was delicious i totally recommend & definitely coming back .View more

All vegan sushi! The quality is very good but it comes with a price. I took the omakase which came with miso soup, pork dumplings (vegan), 12 sushi pieces & dessert. I don't recommend the omakase because the sushi rolls were very good but everything else was ok. So instead of paying 50$ for the set, I'd get 50$ worth of sushi. The reason I didn't go with the rolls from the start was because I didn't know what was what (The lighting was very dim & the menu letters were worn out). I would have liked a menu explanation because it's not your typical sushi. The service was really slow it took forever to get our order. I forgot to take a picture of the dumplings because I was too hungry & there 24 pieces (they combined 2 orders). Overall impressed of the vegan sushi!View more

Always incredible! I think I was surprised because, I might be wrong, but it seems like the menu got smaller since last time? But still as delicious as ever. My favorites are the truffle maki & was so pleased with the Big Momo & little Bombay one too! I feel like you can never go wrong with sushi Momo, they have managed to make me like vegetables I absolutely hate, truly incredible! Sushi Momo is one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. I recommend the Omakase 4-course set menu (49$) if you're overwhelmed by all the sushi options (as we were) - that way, you get to try a bit of everything! It's definitely worth the extra 5$ on the set menu to get the mushroom tartare, which was one of the highlights of our meal. You'll get 12 pieces of sushi of many different varieties. The set menu portions were perfect - we were satiated but not stuffed. In addition to creative & aesthetic plant-based sushi, they also have a beautifully crafted cocktail menu. The vibe is intimate & cozy. The staff are friendly, & the service is timely. The prices are not cheap, but pretty standard for a nice sushi restaurant.
