With 10 years of experience, chef Christian Manuel Ventura Alatorre opened Sushi Momo in December 2014, and has been getting much praise from day one. Presque tout était délicieux!! Nous avons pris le menu dégustation & c'était incroyable! Bonnes portions, le tartare de champignons & les arancinis comme entrée étaient parfaits, on a adorés les sushis & la poire pochée était à en tomber par terre. Seule déception le momochoco en dessert; beaucoup trop gras & riche à mon goût! Aussi, ils ne semblent pas respecter la nouvelle loi sur les pourboires, car le tip en pourcentage que j'ai laissé sur la machine à été calculé sur le montant avec taxe, & non le montant avant taxe comme la loi le stipule.View more

C'est définitivement un de mes restos favoris à Montréal. J'y suis venu plusieurs fois, & je me fait surprendre à chaque fois par la finesse & la richesse de la cuisine.
C'est un délice. Les saveurs, les textures… c'est riche en bouche, agréable & parfaitement balancé. & ce des entrées au dessert 🍮

Went here with four people & had the omikase. Flavours were great, I love mushrooms & that came through really well. Atmosphere is nice & cosy & provided a great environment to catch up.
Appetizers were great, soup was great, dessert was fine, & the sushi was good. But as a non-vegetarian it does not serve as a replacement for sushi. The flavours are great & they have some really interesting fusions, but most of the rolls rely on sauces to get their flavour. That's ok, & they taste good, but they are heavier & not equivalent for standard sushi.
This is solid vegan food in a nice setting, but it is not a sushi replacement.View more

I have been to this location twice
1. I went there for my birthday dinner & the meal took 50 minutes to come out, but the food was phenomenal!! Told them it was my birthday & they still charged us for dessert, which was fine but still shocking.
2. Went there a few weeks later & the service had immensely improved! Our server was very kind & attentive & the sushi came out within 15! The vegan sushi here is all phenomenal. The kamikaze Salmon was my favorite!!View more

First off, this place serves vegan sushi. I went here for my birthday dinner & you really need a reservation. We ordered the omakase, which comes with your choice of appetizers/dessert & the chef's choice of sushi. It's a cozy little place & everything was absolutely delicious.
Don't expect those small makis with just cucumber or avocado, these are rolls full of different ingredients that mixes texture & flavor that taste so good together. They also made a vegan version of salmon made of konjac & I really enjoyed that too. The service is impeccable & the atmosphere is super lovely. & if you've eaten at other sushi places, the price is pretty reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended.View more

Modern & trendy! The restaurant has a really nice ambiance, & the service was great. The servers take time to explain each dish, which was informative. We took the degastation menu for $49/person. The food was pretty outstanding, especially the Tiradito (the "salmon" was exactly like salmon). The assortment or sushi was great, too, for a first tasting. Highly recommend the momochoco for dessert. Overall, it was a great night out with friends & for people who are vegan or pregnant.View more

With the number of vegan sushi restaurants in town, I knew I had to try one of the top rated here at Sushi Momo & I was not disappointed. Rolls here range from $10 - $18 & vary in pieces (clearly marked on the menu). They also offer in-house sashimi if you're interested in their take on mock fish. The rolls here are some of the best, with only one being just okay while the rest were fire. Must-have: Melitzana & Sakura Rolls. The first one was the BEST with an eggplant flambée & the textures in the roll were simply perfection. Smoky, savory, & crunchy all in one go. I also loved their Sakura Roll where they used a lot of their take on fishes in a very classic, cold roll. We also had their Geisha Roll which was also nice but on the deep-fried end. It ended up being very heavy & we would have preferred to have chosen another of the earlier futomakis instead. Of course, can't end a meal without dessert, & their Poached Pear with Nuts was an excellent way to finish. If you're able to dine in, please do! The decor & feel are very chic & upscale without necessarily paying high end prices for fantastic food. Reservations are highly encouraged especially if you are coming on a busy weekend evening.View more

I am not a vegetarian at all, but as a carnivore these dishes were fantastic! We did the 4 flight special & would do it again & again. They make the best miso soup! The desserts were OK. Service was amazing. We are recommending this place to our friends!View more

All vegan sushi! The quality is very good but it comes with a price. I took the omakase which came with miso soup, pork dumplings (vegan), 12 sushi pieces & dessert. I don't recommend the omakase because the sushi rolls were very good but everything else was ok. So instead of paying 50$ for the set, I'd get 50$ worth of sushi. The reason I didn't go with the rolls from the start was because I didn't know what was what (The lighting was very dim & the menu letters were worn out). I would have liked a menu explanation because it's not your typical sushi. The service was really slow it took forever to get our order. I forgot to take a picture of the dumplings because I was too hungry & there 24 pieces (they combined 2 orders). Overall impressed of the vegan sushi!View more

Always love coming here when in Montréal for the delicious & creative menu! The atmosphere is great, the servers are kind & introduce the all dishes before serving. I usually just go for the omakase set, but also tried the vegan/konjac sashimi this time & was very impressed! My tip is to make a reservation, & perhaps for earlier in the evening because they ran out of the poached pear dessert I wanted to try by 8pm. Next time!View more

Vraiment excellent ! Ces sushis végétaliens sont travaillés, les saveurs se bousculent en bouche sans jamais créer une cacophonie mais plutôt une symphonie à déguster. Beau travail du chef pour la création du menu & le plateau de dégustation est parfait pour les indécis comme moi. A new Montreal favourite. This was insanely delicious. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life (I'm not vegan or vegetarian). - The Gyu tempura roll was amazing - The roll with capers on it was my favourite. Holy cow it's so good. Make a reservation 1 week in advance !! 10 pieces of sushi each was enough for us. The service was amazing. The waiter just asked how many rolls we wanted & chose for us. He chose really well. The dessert is pretty good, but not amazing. It was $36 for 10 large pieces of sushi & dessert.View more

Cela faisait super longtemps que je voulais aller à ce restaurant, nous avons fait plus d'une heure de trajet pour venir. L'endroit est magnifique!! Menu dégustation (2x entrés, un plateau de sushi, dessert), une belle option pour découvrir leur cuisine. La serveuse était très gentille. Pourquoi je mets si peux d'étoiles, parce que le service a été EXTRÊMEMENT long. Nous sommes arrivés à 21:30 avec réservation, des notre arrivée nous avons commandé 2x cocktail, après plus de 45 minutes... Nous n'avions rien reçu.... Cela a prit 1:15 pour avoir l'entrée #1 un, une soupe & un shooter d'huîtres. Le délais pour la 2e entrée même chose... Interminable, j'ai fini par demander à une autre serveuse si notre entré allait bientôt arrivé, l'entrée nous fût servi aussi... Le plateau de sushi fût servi relativement rapidement en comparaison aux autres plats mais ce qui était chaud ne l'était plus & il était rendu près de minuit, on n'avait plus très faim. Nous sommes sortis vers 12:45 avec une facture totale de 237$ (avant pourboir). J'étais avec mon amoureux & nous avons fais le choix de passer une belle soirée mais en partant de la avons convenu ne plus jamais y aller car le temps d'attente était complètement exagéré. Nous n'avons pas pu apprécier réellement le menu vue les circonstances. À noter que dès le 2e entré il ne restait que 3-4 tables dans le restaurant. Lorsque les sushi on été servi il n'en restait que 2 qui mangeait leur dessert. Vraiment déçu!View more

The food was good, but the portions of the entree & dessert were way too small. Small bowl for the miso soup. I'm not expecting a huge bowl but a bit bigger. The desserts omg the brownie was so small, it was like the size of a quarter, & the sorbet too. It tasted good, though the sushi platter was great. As somebody who doesn't consume fish, I'd never thought I'd be able to experience the pleasures of a fine omakase, but Sushi Momo allowed me to do so, without falling short of expectations.
I had their set-menu, which included an oyster shooter, a mango-soba salad, chef's choice of sushi, & a brownie.
The shooter was made of savoury, stringy oyster mushrooms in a slightly tangy sauce with a crispy chip on top.
The mango-soba salad was great, I enjoyed how the fried onions provided a flavorful & textural contrast to the luscious noodles, same with the radish & greens. However, the mangos were underripe & overly tart.
Chef's choice of sushi rolls provided to me were the Delhi, Tropical, & Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle.
Delhi was reminiscent of Japanese curry, with crispy fried kabocha & peppers on a roll with konjac shrimp & a light curry flavour behind it.
Tropical was a refreshing punch, of mango, coconut, freeze-dried strawberries, with a yuzu-mango sauce, & the same konjac shrimp. In both instances the konjac shrimp was chewy & flavourless, but it did not detract from the food.
Oyster Mushroom, Caviar, & Truffle was a mass of rich creamy mushrooms with a seaweed caviar on top of a thick piece of fried rice.
The dessert was also presented well, a fudgy brownie with strawberries, & a raspberry & mango emulsion, but I wasn't a big fan.View more

On a été ravis du menu découverte ($$). C'est très satisfaisant en terme de goût, de texture, de quantité & d'une beauté remarquable.
Une entrée, un plateau d'une dizaine de Sushis par personne, accompagné d'une bière ou d'un cocktail.
Une surprise quand la serveuse nous présente nos plats. Elle nous explique en détail en commençant par le nom du plat, sa composition, on se sentaient dans un grand restaurant. 💟
Les bières ne sont pas du type micro, mais on est ouvert à essayer quelque chose de différent. Une bière à base de vin ou de saké à très bien accompagner notre repas.

The sushi at this restaurant is beyonds words can explain. The flavors are from out of this world! Platers come beautifully presented & the waiters always take the time to explain each sushi. I close my eyes with every bite to ensure I savor the incredible flavors. It is my absolute favorite restaurant! I do not go to restaurants often but when I do, Momo is the only place I go to. The interior is small & cosy & somewhat casual but the quality of the food is extraordinary. I have been to Momo numerous times & it is always an incredible culinary experience. I have never been disapointed. My entire familly loves this place. The price is very reasonable. We have brought many of our meat eating friends & they absolutely loved it & even ask to go back. It is better than any other traditional sushi which would contain animal products. Their desserts are delicious however a little on the small side in my opinion. I really enjoy sitting on their cosy terrase in the summer time.You must try it. You will not be disapointed. My reservations are for next week & I cannot wait !!!
