Had the garlic labneh which was the best labneh I've ever had, the hummus, eggplant, chicken, & turnips. Everything was of high quality & delicious! So worth it.
First of all, the Sabich was delicious! To my personal taste, its flavours were very interesting & unique; it felt explosive & light at the same time.
The chicken shawarma with pita, the fries, & everything else were great.
It was a beautiful experience.
Worth the hype! I loved the falafels & my chicken shawarma.
Great food & ambience. I got the chicken shawarma plate & was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dish, especially the in-house pita. The staff are super kind & welcoming. It would be perfect if the store accepts Amex
The restaurant has a more modern vibe compared to other Lebanese places, which is refreshing. However, I found it disappointing that they don't bring the menu or bill to the table, which feels less welcoming. We ordered the chicken shawarma & kafta kebab. The chicken was delicious & juicy, but the kebab, unfortunately, was tough. The salad seemed far from fresh, as if it had been prepared days in advance. The fries, though, were the standout! They were a masterpiece, especially with the sumac sprinkled on top, which made them unique & absolutely delicious. Overall, a mixed experience, with some definite highlights & a few areas for improvement.
We ordered the chicken shawarma plate & the muhammara & they were AMAZING. Really fresh & good food :)
Its our first time at Sumac. The hostess was very welcoming & ushered my group to a cosy corner. She also patiently explained us how & what to order. We ordered some beers & chicken shawarma plates. The beer can we ordered was very fizzy & David, the owner of the place, was kind enough to notice this & replaced it quickly. The shawarma plates were delicious & very filling! Overall a great place hosted by some wonderful people. Keep this going. We will be coming back for sure 🙏🏼❤️
Great food & vibe. The hummus was great & the chicken shawarma was delicious.
Definitely a solid notch above the usual lebanese restaurants I dined to. Their shawarma chicken is more juicy, well cooked & seasoned than other similar venues. The choices of sides is also more diverse & just feel more authentic. Definitely try if you are in the area with a craving for Lebanese cuisine on the go.
Sat in for dinner tonight for the first time & the food was just incredible! Shared the chicken shawarma plate & the falafel plate & sumac fries with 2 adults & 2 kids. Highly recommend! I wish I could repeat the meal tomorrow.
For whatever it's worth, my favorite spot in Montreal (was only there a week). The food was really good & creative. The fennel salad was super good with the chicken shawarma plate. I came back twice during my trip. The portions are generous & the fast casual setup is nice for a quick quality meal.
Service was excellent fair cost in comparison to the quantity of food Overall rating is 4 starts due to that the chicken shawarma is almost a taouk not the shawarma we are used to
Incredible Shawarma Pita. Everything checks out the boxes. Tender chicken/ puffy & soft pita bread & perfect balance of sauces/ vegetables. Paired with Harira Fries & you're more than full. On the pricier side but it's definitely better than any other place.
Amazing food. Chicken is succulent & the labneh is to die for!
This is not my first visit & every time I go I just love it.
The food is excellent & the staff always willing to help.
The pita bread is the real thing & unlike anything else I've had before.
The Sumac French Fries are excellent as well.
Baba Ganoush is very good as well as the chicken & the salads.
This is a few steps above the typical Lebanese restaurant we have in Montreal.
Can wait to go back!!!!!!!
Tried it once, no need to go back. I only wanted to try the Falafel, that was recommended in a Gazette article. It was very tasty, as was the Baba & Hummus & pita. The fried eggplant 'salad' left much to desire. The chicken tasted like Chinese 5-spice chicken, & was almost disturbingly moist/soft (like at a Chinese buffet).
The service was quick & friendly although the ordering setup with the one cash register needs to be changed. What is stopping them from having their numerous servers taking orders from clients sitting down, at the tables? (considering this is how you order more food or drinks, if you wish).
My suggestion: get a takeout order of the hummus & baba & pita & pick up some chicken from Adonis to make at home.
Cheers!
