So the famous St-Viateur Bagel shop now has a DDO location in the West Island. They also make sandwiches here, but unfortunately the kitchen closes at 2pm, boo! But you can still get fresh hand made Bagels & more till closing time.
Busy place! There was a line up outside, but the staff were excellent in moving everyone through. Some people were getting bagels to go, others eating in & getting bagels sandwiches which were so delicious!
Not our first time having their bagels! We love to stop & grab some when passing through the area. This was my first time going to this location, we choose it because we thought we would have an easier time with our camper van. The parking lot that they do have is very tiny, & there were two cars that were parked in the access way to talk & catch up, which delayed us several minutes. Other regular cars also struggled to menouver the limited space. Would recommend parking on the street beside the shop. The bagels themselves were great. They have 2 stands, one for just bagel purchase, & another counter for bagel sandwiches. You can see the bagels being made in front of you while you are purchasing them.
A tourist can't come to Montreal & not have St-Viateur bagels. I'm lucky to live here.
The Café is also a great place. They serve a decent variety of fresh delicious bagel sandwiches made right in front of your eyes. The service this far has been exceptional. Definitely a healthier & tastier alternative for breakfast or lunch. I recommend it.
Our first Montreal bagel did not disappoint. A lovely chewiness that was hard to stop eating. The sandwiches we well done, with high quality ingredients.

This...THIS is a Montreal bagel. For those of you who don't know, St-Viateur bagels are the tip top of bagel royalty.
If you've never had a bagel, it's a style of bread prepared into rings by hand where the dough is boiled briefly before it's baked! The result is a soft chewy bread that is good by itself or as base of a great sandwich!
Speaking of sandwiches, there's a separate component of the bakery that makes sandwiches using the bagels baked freshly that day!
If you went to Montreal & didn't have a St-Viateur bagel then you didn't go to Montreal.
A cozy little place that's great for a quick lunch. I highly recommend trying their bagels fresh out of the oven - they're warm & extremely soft. Definitely worth a try if you're nearby.
Their bagel sandwiches were not bad but the bagel for those sandwiches didn't taste as good as the plain ones straight from the oven.
Overall, a nice spot with good bagels, especially when they're fresh.
Service was fast & friendly. There was a variety of bagel sandwiches, salads & soups. I had the smoked salmon & I was not disappointed, it was fresh & bountiful! Also purchased fresh baked bagels to take home.
My first stop when I come back to Montreal.
This location is a favourite to get our fix of authentic Montreal style bagels when we visit. It's really really fun to get hot out of the oven fresh bagels. They are so good. The inside has a lot of space with some seating. I haven't tried the sandwiches or other food but am guessing they'd be good as well. Definitely recommend any bagel from here!
