Wow crazy good bagels. Fresh out of the wood oven & lots of options. A bit expensive for a small scoop of cream cheese (generic brand made), but the combination of the fresh bagel & cream cheese is unreal. A must try when in Montreal! Remember that this place doesn't take credit card, debit & cash only.View more
Best nostalgic food if you go to montreal. Had nice hot chai latter & the cream cheese was out of the world. Worth to wait for itView more
Wow, fantastic place. It was recommended to us by a friend & we're happy we went. We tried the sesame bagel with chive cream cheese which was crunchy with a slight smokey flavour on the outside & a warm chewy inside. Cream cheese was ultra soft & luxurious with good flavour. We also tried the maple bagel with apple cinnamon cream cheese. Both were deadly & delicious. Not to mention the service! Above & beyond!View more
It was a good experience, but I totally think it was over hyped. The bagel was bland, & had no taste. The sandwiches lacked seasoning, & probably the best thing was the fig & cheese sandwich. I wouldn't try it again. It was good to see it & experience it, but I don't think I would go for it again if I would like a satisfying bite.View more
If you're craving a bagel experience that's like a cream cheese avalanche, this place has you covered! Seriously, the amount of cream cheese on their sandwiches could build a second bagel tower. But hey, if you're into that kind of thing, go for it! Just be prepared to wait longer than it takes to watch a Lord of the Rings marathon. I mean, I'm pretty sure Frodo could've destroyed the One Ring twice in the time it takes to get your order here. On a more serious note, their bagels are fresh, I just didn't appreciate that I got a bitter aftertaste of burnt onion/garlic on my bagel but overall fine!View more
I have to admit that I think of the St. Viateur bagel as the more refined northern cousin of the traditional NYC bagel. It is more delicate; not quite as chewy, & a little bit thinner (so no need for the diet-concious to scoop out the middle. Mine was nicely controlled with sesame seeds. My "traditional had excellent lox & was piled high with tomato slices, onions, capers, & (of course!) wonderful cream cheese.View more
Totally overrated for a remote place that makes you go an extra mile to bring them cash only FOR A BAGEL, not some culinary delight that will blow your mind. Just a bagel for $13-15, a tiny piece of lax under a slab of cream cheese. I can do the same at home without jumping the hoops & looking for an ATM.View more
* Everything bagel with vegan cream cheese - great
Would be great to see more vegan options in the future!View more
Good little breakfast place. Simple menu but good. I had the smoked meat bagel, it was very good but unoriginal. My boyfriend had the bagel with marinated eggplants, goat cheese & sun dried tomatos. That one was amazing.
The coffees were also very good.
Service was abit slow. It took about 20 minutes to take out order. At least we got the food quickly.
