Afficher toutsmoked meat(220) rib(67) sandwich(66) music(64) fries(55) band(45) pete's(39) blues(35) poutine(33) live music(32) recommend(23) vibe(22)I really liked this cool spot! It's super cozy & has a great vibe with yummy food. My friend recommended their smoked meat, but honestly, there's a bunch of other tasty stuff on the menu too. We tried the smoked meat sandwich with awesome fries - so good! Even though the cashier goofed up the bill a bit, it's all good. They've got a bunch of sauces to choose from to take home, which is neat. The sandwich itself was delish, with lean meat & not too much fat. There's plenty of parking & I can't wait to check out the live music next time. Definitely recommend this spot!
Superb Montreal style smoked meat served up in many dishes. We tried it on the traditional deli sandwich, poutine, spaghetti, all compelling. The meals were freshly prepared, the meat peppery & juicy, even the odd pasta combo balanced the unusual pairing. Friendly & patient service, relaxed crowd vibe, pleasant roadhouse decor.
The sandwich plates will hit the spot! Get the medium - so juicy! Comes with coleslaw & kosher pickle, & oh! Those fries that Quebecers have perfected!! The service is quick & friendly. You will not be disappointed. The perfect meal on your way in or out of Montreal!
When you arrive you go directly to order & then sit down, since you don't have to wait for them to find a seat for you. When you sit down they bring some bread, butter & a small plate of salad to the table while you wait for the food. They have different types of draft beer & in bottles for different tastes. They serve you a lot of food & all the meats come with a side, which from what I could tell is French fries. As for the waiters, they only come to your table to take or remove dishes.
Friends brought me here while out on a work trip. Best Montreal smoked meat I've ever had. 100% recommend.
Atmosphere was 11/10. Staff were super friendly. Going to stop here every time I'm in Montreal!
Must do the line up to order, then go to your table & they will bring your food by saying your name.Food was excellent. My son & I shared a Special Pete, smoke meat sandwich with fries, coselaw & a Cott Cherry Coke. Music was a bit load(not live). I will go back for live Blues Band for sure. Asked for gravy but it was 5$ for a small cup so we decided to pass, I guess whatever little extra the kitchen must do is a big bother so they are trying to discourage you. They serve a little cup of ribs while in the line to order.
If you like ribs & smoked meat this is the place it was amazing & oh yes don't forget the cheesecake. It's a family-owned restaurant. The place reminds me of an old wooden cottage. The service was great & friendly. The band that performed were great. They played oldies which we sang along with them all evening. The place is not that big & they don't take reservation. One of the owner gave out ice cream cone which we don't see free things much these days it was really appreciated especially from the kids. In the summer they have old vintage car shows in the parking lot so we will for sure go to that event.
It's back to how it used to be! 5/5 Fast service, super friendly staff & amazing food! Live band is always good 🍻 Thanks!
By Far the best Smoke Meat & Fries in Greater Montreal!! Plus incredible Blues Music on weekends.
I can't begin to explain how much we enjoyed the food, atmosphere, good cheer. I'm a fussy eater, & I like to eat quietly. But when a good friend offered to treat me to Smoke Meat Pete, I had no idea, & the videos & pix show the wonderful experience. Too bad the crowds left before the music ended. We had a 90 minute drive home, so we couldn't stay, but I hope to come back during old car cruise in come spring! Thank you Pete!!!
Hands down the best smoked meat in Montreal !! Great ambience with love music too ! This is a must visit when I have friends or family from out of town
One of the best smoked meats you'll ever have served with the best fries...possibly on earth! (Author doesn't know what he's talking about, has not tried all fries on earth, but these are particularly phenomenal)
First time, food was great, staff super friendly. I barely had time to sit down before my plate was ready, super fast!

I decided to finally try this Restaurant, which i have heard about for years. Unfortunately, I cannot give the restaurant a great rating. I ordered the smoked meat platter; my daughter ordered a lean sandwich. I found the meat to be a little greasy & overspiced. Simply put, not as good as Schwartz's. The fries were good. Also worth noting, there is surcharge for ordering a lean sandwich, which cost $16.80 ( pre tax). VS Snowden Delly $12.50. My platter was supposed to come with a fountain drink, but i was charged $2.75 because I got bread " on the side " with my platter. How else is bread supposed to come? So I paid $2.75 for 4 slices of bread. Honestly I felt like the whole operation was an assembly line designed to extract maximum $ from the customers. A real disappointment.

I can fully appreciate the stains & demands that the Covid 19 has had in keeping & maintaining your business with all of the Government regulations that you must now follow coupled with the need to increase your prices a little to try to recoup some of your losses, but to now be charged over $15.00 (tax in) for a regular smoke meat sandwich (which by far now exceeds other deli's) which is basically two small pieces of bread (cost ) & few slices of smoke meat (cost ), & also your smoked meat specials to now go to well over $19.00 (tax in) is way over the wall...As a result your once affordable place is no more, so myself & some of my friends who had been regular customers will now be taking our business elsewhere to more affordable Deli's, & rest assured there are plenty of them around with good old fashion Smoked Meat......Smoked Meat Pete is not the only game in town..it has lost its luster having priced itself out of a convenient market place for family & friends to attend...sadly reviewed by a former customer(s)

I have been going there for years, since way before he became a big deal. I understand if you need to increase your prices, the price of beef has drastically increased whithin the last few years. But your quality & quantity has dropped. The jumbo used to be a real Jumbo sandwich & was worth the price difference compared to the regular. Now it seems like all you get is a better piece of bread with the same quantity of meat as the regular. It looks like you have figured out a way to stack the meat so that the sandwich looks big when looking at the front of it.
Your fries are really not what they used to be, last 3 times I have been they have either been soggy or borderline burnt. They used to have the best fries period!! Now they do not even always use the famous Manitoba red potatoes they used to brag about in newspapers. & seriously, other places around have decent fries too, yet a large french fry to go is about 3 times the price of anywhere else at your restaurant.
I am sorry pete but it looks like you are all about the hype now, organizing biker events, concentrating on the music etc etc... The food is going downhill :(

I have never had such a disgusting fat filled smoked meat sandwich in my over 50 years of life. I picked it all out of the fat saturated rye bread & over 1/2 the content was fat. When the waitress showed the so called chef & owner all the fat picked out of the sandwich, he shrugged & walked away. Eexceptional customer service NOT!!!
I regularly brought friends & family to this Resto & the fries & meat are good when not all far. Off day I guess but the owners lousy attitude that got me. I will not go back. You'd think that with a restaurant full if 'vote for us' in the Resto Montreal contest that Pete would practice a bit more customer service rather than customer insult!

I have taken my wife & son to Petes for as long as I can remember. Not only does he have some of the best Smoked meat in Quebec, his fries are legendary. Pete is always behind the open pick up counter greeting people. (Wish he would add smoked meat to the steak platter already)
It can get loud with the live jazz & blues bands though so plan accordingly.
This is a MUST visit spot for foodies when you are in "comfort food" day.
