We tried the smoked meat sandwich, steak with fries, & the ribs sampler. The sandwich was packed with flavor & perfectly tender, while the steak was juicy & well-seasoned. The ribs sampler featured rich, smoky boneless ribs that were incredibly flavorful. Overall, it was a fantastic experience-highly recommended!
Love the ambiance of Smoke Meat Pete! We visit every once in a while. Consistent with their good service & good food. The smoked meat is exquisite, they make the best french fries, & their homemade ketchup is perfectly tangy
Amazing take out meal with the Special, 1lb. Montreal Smoked Meat, Bread, Cole Slaw, Pickles. Took home to Hamilton. Long line to order but delivered sample of Beef Ribs while I waited. Line went pretty fast...about 20 minutes. Worth the wait. My friends enjoyed a taste of Montreal from Smoke Meat Pete.
Best smoked meat & fries but 30 minutes lineup to order then 45 minutes to get my 2 sandwiches... Wayyyyyyyyy too long. A lot of people turned around after seeing this.
I have been eating smoke meat since I was a kid & have become very picky over the years. Smoke Meat Pete's stands with the best of the best. We ordered a small sandwich, fries, coleslaw, & a drink. The small pieces of rye bread were filled with 1/2 a pound of warm & moist, brisket meat. The fries were home cut, not frozen, & deep fried to perfection. The coleslaw was too small a portion, I wanted more. With a large selection of beverages, I picked the Cott Black Cherry. I found it a bit expensive, $24 per person, but worth the extra cost. What an experience. If you have never been here, step up to the window, order your food, & find a place to sit. The server will call out your name & bring you your food. It takes longer to find a place to sit during peak hours, then to prepare your food. With a nice size menu, which includes steaks, ribs, poutine, & platters of a mix of meats, there is something for all. It's a great place for lunch or an afternoon snack. Enjoy!

So I went to eat at Schwartz deli in Montreal years ago because of the long line ups I use to see . It was fine but I didn't see the big deal cause I use to buy pastrami & make my own at home on rye bread & it tasted similar but last night I so happen to pass by cause my friend was hungry & we were in the area so I said ok I'll have a sandwich.....this place should be shut down immediately. It should be illegal to serve heavenly tasting food on this planet!
Tables are nailed down & you are squished up to all the tables around you. The food was good but the taste of the meat is hidden in too many spices. I'd eat from there again if friends were going but wouldn't head there specially.
Delicious. As good or better than the big name deli in QC. Fries were awesome, sandwich melted on your mouth & just about the best slaw I've had..... So worth it & less expensive than you know where...
Have been here a few times. Sometimes it's very busy & hard to find a seat. Atmosphere is pleasant when it's not too crowded. Food is good. Service also friendly.
Went with a bunch of friends for a concert & they gave us a tray of JD shots for free & made us feel more than welcome. Everyone should go here if you liked smoked meat anything.
Absolutely delicious!!! You want smoked meats, this is the place for you!!! Place is always packed & delivers quality food. Many different smoked meat options & plenty of places to sit & enjoy around the restaurant. The staff are friendly & timely. The portions are very generous & juicy. I definitely recommend you stop here when you're in the area. You will not be disappointed & you'll definitely leave with a full belly.
Over all very disappointing. First I'll say the good sides, the preparation time is good, didn't have to wait, the steak was a-ok, it was juicy, the fries were one of the best, the waiters were patient. That all I had. Second I'll say the bad sides. - When I first enter: 1. No Menu, just HOW does a restaurant operate without a menu only with two tvs that switches slides every like 30 seconds & also breaks in the middle of switching. 2. No given seats, they don't give seats, you find one & you sit. Like I work in a restaurant this ain't gonna work, in fact the tables doesn't even have a number nor do the waiters keep in track of where you seat. 3. 18% default tip, wait I thought the default is supposed to be 15%? I don't feel like this is a fancy restaurant. - I sat down: 1. Small uncomfortable seats, The stool is small AF & not gonna lie also hurts your butt, the stool is somehow also higher than the table, so it's also uncomfortable to eat. 2. Bad management-Serving: The server has to yell your name to give you the food, & you have to yell back to get it? Imagine social anxiety? Boy you are not getting your food💀 -I got the food: 1. No necessary sauce & a bunch of unnecessary ones, Yeah you have to take ketchup from an other desk, & what sauce do you get? Vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, mustard, you guys could have replaced sugar with ketchup. 2. Small desk space 3. You guys have me a beef liver with out a knife? I don't eat like an animal. 4. Bad management-Irresponsible waiters: How is it when I ask if the sausage contains pork your answer was that it contains everything? & the other waiter said beef? 5. Bad managements-Manager: I thought my manager is worse enough to tell me to do what I'm already doing or unnecessary things, oh this is worse, the manager here tell her waitress to "Always comeback with something", is that even necessary? If there are things to take on his or her was then obviously that are going to take it. 6. I sat at the ducking counter & I want another cup of soft drink you tell me I have to wait in the line? Worst of all the line is like 30 min. Like if you are running a meat restaurant it's obvious to know that the drinks can be served according to demand, if you guys just can't stand the "Pay before serve" rule, you need have a specific POS just for drinks. (Finally we gets on the food) 6. Bad taste of the smoked beef, it tastes nothing more than homemade boiled beef & you sprinkle salt & put poutine gravy on it, no smoked flavor on it at all. 7. Too oily on the steak, steak was good, the oil were not handled properly, it made the disk taste disgusting. 8. The soup tasted like puke, honestly ask you chef when was the soup made, it's completely BS, potato tastes like mushed tomatoes that has been sitting for a week. 9. Could've given white bread, even white bread is better than what ever tf you guys are serving rn, oh & also if you don't want to serve other types, toast them. 10. The part where the waiter have to scream your name so you can get your food. Yeah what is the manager to say "scream louder", it's not good for their throat, & you are not helping. - I finished eating 1. The to go box is honestly the worst, hard to close, over all, literally just two boxes but stuck to each other on the opposite side. - I left / - Band 1. OK just tell me how tf does the band take 1h to setup, do that on stage see how that goes. Overall a disaster & dissatisfaction on this restaurant, food quality is not as expected Management is honestly worse than McDonald's, I mean maybe no one can beat your meat (trust me a lot of restaurants can) but everyone can beat your management, & speaking of management, the manager should be nicer to the employees like what is that attitude. Next steps: 1. Hier more people. 2. More ways/spots to place order 3. Menu 4. Better management 5. Cancel "pay before eat" if you can't do number 2, but 1 & 4 is necessary. 6. Paid ~70$ for a slice of burnt cheesecake & 2 smoked meat sandwich combos with soggy fries that had no color on them . I get that the kitchen was getting slammed on a Sunday night but screw this place. The front of house staff were pleasant but there needs to be way better quality control with what's coming out of the kitchen.
