Reviews of Sir Winston Churchill Pub describe a timeless Montreal pub with warm dark wood, classic decor, and a welcoming, unpretentious vibe that stays charming rather than trendy. The atmosphere draws a mixed crowd of locals and visitors, making it easy to relax, chat, or watch a game while enjoying a well curated beer list that pours reliably, with options ranging from local to traditional favorites. Food is pub fare that is generally decent and tasty, though some feel it does not always match the price, while others praise solid snacks and standout dishes, suggesting variable value. Service is frequently praised for friendliness and attentiveness, though a few reviews note slower or uneven service during peak times. Live music, a terrace with street views, and a strong happy hour contribute to a vibe suitable for both socializing and quiet evenings, though some nights can be darker inside or more crowded; overall, it is viewed as a reliable spot for drinks and casual bites in a genuine pub atmosphere, with drinks and ambience receiving the most consistent praise despite mixed opinions on price and menu quality.
Big pub, & a nice round-the table bar, suitable for going solo or in groups. The down part was that the two (not-busy) barmaids completely ignored me for a good 10-15 minutes, until after 7:05 when the happy hour finished. Apparently happy hour (5-7pm) is when you get two drinks for one! & I didn't even know that. I wanted to take only one drink & leave! Cause I was meeting friends afterwards for dinner, & I had half an hour to kill, so decided to have a quick drink & discover the place at the same time. The ignorance was discouraging! Even if somebody was there to use the opportunity of the happy hour offer, that was very disrespectful!

Came in for a quick drink of the patio. You have to spend 6CAD pp if you are dining outside. Honestly not sure how you would want to sit inside because it was very dark & smelled odd. The other downside on the patio seating is that the tables are so close together, that you are SQUEEZING back to back with people behind you I had ordered an espresso martini bc I've had nothing but great ones in Montreal...needless to say the one I had gotten was just really off (not sure if it was bad coffee or what). But I had to send it back, & replace with another drink (White Russian) which was also just ok. The waitress seemed nice but wasn't really attentive. I was very appreciative that she didn't push back on me sending back the drink, but only come here if you have time to wait.
We went there at st pats brunch & it was GOOOOOD. Like easily one of the best brunches ive ever had. the atmosphere where we sat was good, staff was kind & helpful but mostly patient with us, clean bathrooms, a little small for pur group of 10 people but we had a lot of light. I wish i could give 4.8 just for the price, which i think could have been cheaper by just a few bucks. Again, i truly recommand. Still worth it

The food was mediocre (chicken club) anyone could prepare at home. The waitress did multiple mistakes by bringing wrong food, not giving the right receipt. I used to go to Winston Churchill when I was student at Concordia & I had fun there especially during summer time but recently when my friends & I went, We were really disappointed with low quality food. The good points were beer & live music.
Kind of reminded me of the bar where Quincy used to drink. Like a subterranean lounge theme but with dance music or whatever. Staff were helpful. Happy hour in Montreal is a good jam. Food was plentiful & pleasant.
