If you are vegan you might like this place but if, like us, you are the friends of a vegan person who suggested this place for dinner, & if you're used to traditional Syrian food with real meat & real flavours, you will find the food unappealing & a bit gross. No amount of'fake chicken' made with soy or mushroom can replace the taste & texture of real shish taouk. Otherwise the restaurant is ok, service is friendly if not a bit pushy at times (they will push you to order specific items on the menu that are on the pricy side, & they will push you to leave a review before leaving). It's also on the expensive side & not great value for your money (Middle Eastern food is typically known for its generous portions).
Healthy yet yummy vegetarian food! My vegan shawarma sandwich was fantastic! The wrap is toast so it's crispy & solid, normally I would avoid sandwich because it's dropping while I was eating, but this time it wasn't. The mushroom replaced meat inside was flavored. Homemade juice was fresh. Service is efficient & friendly. Dining environment was quiet & pleasant, Syrian vibes reassured my last summer moment in Montreal.
Amazing food & lovely staff. We had two juices, the roasted eggplant omelette, foule, & a shawarma sandwich. I had never had Syrian-style foule before & it was amazingly delicious.
What an amazing place! A hidden Gem! We are not Vegetarian, & anyway this felt so fulfilling! The portions are huge, the tastes on point. Don't pass on the Syrian juices, they are the perfect combination for this food. The service was so kind & helpful too!

The most underrated restaurant in the Plateau! My partner & I agreed that their pancakes were the BEST either of us had ever had in our lives. The Syrian juices were phenomenal - we tried the Blackberry & the Pomegranate Lemon & both were to-die-for. Not to mention the sweet & calming ambience & beautiful interiors. I cannot believe this place is VEGAN too. I cannot wait to come back & bring friends!!
Great discovery! Service was awsome, food was very tasty. We ordered mossaka & a shawarma sandwich & they were great. I recommend this to everyone who wants the Syrian culinary experience without the price point of Damas.

Loved my meal at sham vegan! The food is so tasty & the different vegan meats were mind blowing. Satisfied every craving I had for Syrian food as a vegetarian!
What a great experience! This Syrian restaurant is vegan, but you won't notice if you're a meat lover. The muhamarra, falafel, hummus, & kabobs were all delicious. I only wish we had room for more! The cocktails were amazing as well. The staff were incredibly nice & they have outside dining right on Avenue Mont-Royal! Couldn't wish for more.

That was amazing. You never know with places that are vegetarian meat, but wow. Everything was great! & staff was super nice. Kids (2 & 4) loved it too. Oh definitely try to Syrian drinks...so good.
It was such a treat to be able to be at this vegan Syrian/Middle Eastern restaurant with nice decor, indoor/outdoor seating, friendly service, nice bathrooms, &, most importantly, excellent food. It was a great experience!
Beautiful spot with amazing food. The falafels are the best I've ever tried. Super happy to be able to try Syrian food as a vegan. It's usually very hard to try different cuisines as a vegetarian, & a place like this is a good way to try it. Highly recommend for everyone to try.
The options this restaurant offer are a rare find, since it's vegan: traditionally, a vast majority of the Syrian cuisine is composed of beef/chicken. So as a Lebanese, I couldn't help but feel like something's missing in the dishes, probably because old habits die hard: everything was, to my taste, good but nothing exceptional. However, the chef did a really good job with the shawarma: its taste's very similar to the OG one made with real chicken. My least favourite dish was the "kibbeh nayyeh": its flavour reminded me of a whole other dish called "bourghoul a banadoura", which should have nothing to do with this (but I can understand the creative idea behind it!). The waitress was adorable & accommodated our needs in the most gentle of ways.
I had an exceptional experience at this vegan restaurant. Whether seated inside or on the terrace, the pleasant weather made it enjoyable. The open kitchen provided an engaging view of meal preparation, & the staff maintained cleanliness with hairnets. As a vegan restaurant, its diverse, intriguing, & delicious menu is served in beautiful, high-quality dishes. Everything was clean, with fresh ingredients & hot meals. The owners, a kind Syrian & Moroccan couple, add authentic decorations, including impressive handmade artworks. Highly recommended.
