The bread was really good ,soft inside, a nice crust outside, & it felt homemade (which is always a win).
For the protein, I went all in: chicken breast, thighs, & sausage. They were well-seasoned, & the homemade sauce tied them together nicely.
The toppings, though, were pretty basic ...salad, tomatoes, coleslaw, & more of that homemade sauce. They tasted good, but nothing that really stood out. During summer it's way too hot to eat inside . Overall 8/10
Habitué des rotisseries portuguaises à Montréal, je m'attendais à un poulet savoureux & juteux. Hélas, pour 20 $, j'ai eu un poulet rikiki & sec, sans jus & sans sauce. Vu la concurrence, Serrano a intérêt à améliorer sa recette, parce qu'actuellement, il y a beaucoup mieux dans le genre dans la métropole.

just what you expect, could be slightly dry to some with the amount of chicken for the breast chicken they put in but can't complain because it's filling & satisfying. recommend putting all toppings with mayo & hot sauce. make sure to get the sauce on your chicken,
This place is really great! I've had both the chicken breast & thigh sandwiches, & neither were dry. Definitely get it all dressed, it helps to cut through the heaviness of all the meat & bread. I recommend asking for the (demi-glace?) sauce they have for the chicken. Their prices are amazing, especially for the area. The sausage sandwich is also super great. Obviously not too many options for vegetarians, but they do offer a sandwich made with their roast potatoes- however, I think the potatoes might be cooked in chicken fat.
Excellent sandwich place. I come here often for lunch. The meat is juicy & tender. The toppings are plenty & flavourful, the price is really good too. This is known as a chicken place, but personally I think the roasted pork is the best thing on the menu. Get any sandwich with sauce/gravy. Only gripe is service is a bit slow since they shred the chicken/chop the pork to order. Sausages & potatoes are good too. I usually do takeout since it feels like an oven in the store & it's not nicest storefront but in the winter, it's probably nice & warm.
Pour tous les amateurs de sandwichs Ma tendance à bénéficier de nuits plus courtes de sommeil le samedi soir s'est poursuivie hier. Les effets varient : troubles d'humeur, fatigue, bâillement excessif, etc. Aujourd'hui, un nouveau symptôme s'est ajouté à la liste : diminution de galanterie. En marchant vers le Serrano Bar-B-Q, une pluie nourrie s'abattait sur le parapluie que je tenais au-dessus de nos têtes. Mon plan galant prémédité de lui ouvrir la porte & la protéger du parapluie a pris l'eau. Engourdi par le manque de sommeil, j'ai plutôt franchi le seuil en premier en fermant le parapluie, la laissant sous une averse de grosses gouttes. Pas très glorieux de ma part ! Par bonheur, le reste de notre escapade culinaire s'est déroulé merveilleusement. Au Serrano Bar-B-Q, on maîtrise l'art de la cuisson. Toutes les viandes sont tendres, parfumées, s'effilochant sans effort. Nous nous sommes concocté un menu quatre sandwichs à 38 $ pour deux nous permettant de déguster toutes les saveurs du local où le poulet est roi... mais où le porc n'est pas à dédaigner non plus ! Au contraire, c'était le plus savoureux d'entre tous. Servis dans de délicieux pains portugais, agrémentés de légumes & profusément imprégnés de sauce, leurs produits rôtis ont un goût irrésistible qui donne envie d'y revenir. À ce prix-là, on ne se fera pas prier ! Seul bémol : le boyau de certains morceaux de saucisses était trop coriace. En prime, en échange de 4,75 $, on a mis la fourchette sur une généreuse portion de moelleuses patates à tremper dans la sauce piquante. Habitué à livrer rapidement la marchandise en interagissant minimalement avec le client, j'ai déstabilisé le petit-fils de la fondatrice, celle qu'on dénommait affectueusement « Madame Poulet », lorsque je lui ai demandé ce qu'il aimait dans son travail. Confirmant qu'il l'appréciait, il n'a pas su me fournir de raisons précises. Quoi qu'il en soit, je tiens à remercier tout le personnel de perpétuer la tradition en délectant les Montréalais de leurs succulents sandwichs dans un décor probablement inchangé depuis l'ouverture. Après tout, pourquoi modifier une recette gagnante ? Portions généreuses, qualité, prix imbattables.
Honestly - was expecting so much more. Chicken was too salty & dry, neither vegetables or the sauce made up for it. Sausage sandwich is below average. Not the worst deal at 17$ for two sandwiches, but likely won't be returning.
This is the epitome of the chicken sandwich. This place is a must go like la Banquise & Schwartz. Get the poitrine sandwich with gravy, hot sauce & all dress with a side of potatoes....you can thank me later. Cooking chicken rotating over chicken juices flowing from one to the other. I don't know what's their secret but their food tastes like life itself. Please let this place be here forever & never change.
