I randomly came across this café while I was downtown buying a book. It was pretty busy inside, so I got curious & decided to give it a try & now it's my new favorite spot!
If you don't have time for breakfast in the morning, I highly recommend their croissants because they bake them fresh every morning. The baristas & the owner are also super kind & always happy to help, especially if you're not sure what to order or want to try something new. Their menu has so many options!

I've always enjoyed going to Second Cup. It's usually one of my favorite places to study, meet up with friends, relax, & enjoy a coffee. But unfortunately, my experience today at this location today was completely different & extremely disappointing, due to terrible customer service from the barista, Sara.
My friends & I came to downtown Montreal in the afternoon & stopped by this café to cool down after being outside in the heat. As soon as we walked in & placed our orders, the barista, Sara, was extremely rude & unwelcoming. She didn't greet us, barely made eye contact, had a rude tone, rolled her eyes, & generally made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being customers.
The worst part happened when our drinks were ready. My friend went to ask whether the iced caramel lattes were ours, & Sara responded rudely,'Yes,' followed by saying loudly,'How do you not know your own order, like ughhhhhh!!?'' I have genuinely never experienced customer service like this at a coffee shop. There was absolutely no reason to speak to a customer that way, especially over a simple question about an order. I'm extremely disappointed because I've always had a positive impression of Second Cup, & experiences like this can really affect a customer's perception of a specific business. I hope management takes this feedback seriously & addresses how customers are being treated at this location.
Unfortunately, based on my experience today, I would not recommend this location. I hope Second Cup looks into this situation with that specific employee, because this type of customer service does not reflect the experience I've come to expect from the brand.

I had an extremely bad experience at this Second Cup today in the afternoon, because of an employee named Sarah.
We had just ordered, & there were only a couple of other customers. When our drinks arrived, I couldn't hear what the worker had said, so I politely asked what the drinks were. After I placed them on the table & went to get straws, I heard the worker laughing about me behind my back. This really upset me because I had done absolutely nothing wrong & had even left a tip. After talking with my friends, I decided to confront her & ask why she was talking about me behind my back. Unfortunately, she refused to apologize or acknowledge that her behavior was disrespectful. As someone who has always loved Second Cup, this experience was extremely disappointing. I will unfortunately never return to this location after being treated this way.

J'adore cet endroit c'est l'un de mes cafés préférés C'est pourquoi j'ai été un peu déçu aujourd'hui L'employée qui était de service ne semblait pas très disponible ni très accueillante, & nous avons remarqué que plusieurs autres clients avaient la même impression Je comprends que tout le monde peut avoir une journée plus difficile…. J'espère simplement que le service retrouvera la qualité à laquelle cet établissement nous a habitués
