I came to Schwartz's Deli - Sandwiches - Steaks for lunch a while ago & tried their Smoked Meat Sandwich. It was delicious. The smoked meat was amazing, there was a good portion of food, & it was excellent value. Another must try place in Montreal & I'd give it 9/10
We went there on a Saturday night, where the place was pretty busy. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too much to get our seats. The food was amazing, served at the right temperature, & the waiter was very nice, not to mention the service that was pretty quick. The only negative aspect is that there isn't much space between tables & chairs, so it's a bit tight, other than that, everything else is great.

I have no idea what happened to this place but damn it's nowhere near as good as it used to be. The meat was dry, unflavoured & overall disappointing. I remember back in the day thinking this was the best smoked meat sandwich I've ever had but it barely passes as a good sandwich anymore Wait. That's the exact review someone just posted. I went there & I can concur 100% how true that person's review was. On top of that the staff were so darn grumpy today. The cashier was nice but the guys taking the order & prepping the sandwiches were just so grumpy. I got 4 sandwiches & a frozen pack of 10 slices of deli meat & it was just under $100. Wow! But just refer to the first paragraph. I just cut & pasted a previous reviewers comments because it was so true! I couldn't have stated it any different or any different.
I don't know if it's the best smoke meat in Montreal, but I do know that I'm completely satisfied with this one. The sandwich melts in your mouth, no kidding
A local favorite & delicious smoked meat options. A must try if you're visiting Montreal. Getting a seat is almost winning a lottery. But takeout orders are served quickly. It's better to takeout & eat outside. I tried a smoked meat sandwich & Schwartz poutine. Both were delicious & recommended.
Stopped by on a Friday night, there was a line out the door but they move really quickly, especially if you opt to sit at the bar. The menu is pretty straight forward smoke meat. Got the smoke meat sandwich fries & a pickles & it was great. The protein was tender & moist, & the portions are satisfying.

Je ne comprend pas vraiment pourquoi on recommande tellement cet endroit, j'ai était déçu ! C est trop cher & cette qualité n est pas unique ! Le pain & les frites sont très moyens! Personnellement je préfère encore acheter du smoked meat au supermarché j'aurai la même chose, moins cher & surtout avec option fromage, sauce & de meilleure frites (meme les surgelés)

Ne vous fiez pas à la simplicité des lieux, ce qu'on vient chercher ici c'est ce qu'il y a dans l'assiette, & c'est depuis maintenant 90 ans un véritable succès. Même les plus grandes stars ont fait le détour tout comme la grande Céline, dont plusieurs photos tapissent les murs de cet établissement. Service très sympathique.
