We had to stop here for the legendary smoked meat sandwich, & they did not disappoint.

When we arrived, the line appeared to be very intimidating & long however, one line was for those patron wanting to eat in & the other ones were for takeout. The takeout line went fairly fast. We also ordered a black cherry drink, slaw & pickles. The smoked meat sandwich with extremely tender, juicy & tasty. It was a decent serving of meat so my husband & I ordered one sandwich.

Make sure you don't miss this spot if you're visiting Canada.. 🇨🇦

Great atmosphere, no nonsense fast moving old school diner! Sat at the counter & had a brisket sandwich & pickle, just beautiful, & well worth waiting in line!

I picked up a smoked meat sandwich today & couldn't eat it because it was so salty. I don't know if they changed their recipe because they're so busy, but it was not the same as the ones I have had in the past. Lester's & Dunn's are way better. I won't be going back. What a shame!

Old School Deli. Montreal Smoked meat is the menu. Had the Poutine & the Montreal smoked meat sandwich. Busy place with a line up to get in. Definitely a do once place if in Montreal.

Smoked beef sandwich was good but overhyped. Service is very quick . Long queue to get in. Very cramped u cant enjoy your meal.

A classic smoked meat diner that holds so much history.
Prepare for line ups if you are dining in. If you are taking out there is a much shorter line to the building on the left. The sandwiches itself is not that big, recommend at least one per person for a meal.

I went here twice in the last month. First time best smoke meat sandwich .. second time the meat was a bit dry. Good service considering how busy with lines everywhere. Basic facilities inside perhaps part of the 90+ years they have been in business. My wife doesn't eat beef so they have duck but that had to be ordered in advance ...

We stopped by on a Tuesday evening around 7:00 PM & were pleasantly surprised that the line wasn't too long-we only waited about 15 minutes to get seated.
?It was our first time sharing a table with other guests! We sat at a 6-person table with a newly arrived university student & his mother, & we had a wonderful chat with them. The vibe inside is super lively, cozy, & full of historic charm.
?We ordered the classic smoked meat sandwich, the smoked meat poutine, a pickle, & the pickled red peppers (which I initially mistook for pickled tomatoes! 🍅). The peppers had just the right amount of kick for me.
?The portion was plenty for the two of us, & the total came out to around $60. A must-visit spot when you're in Montreal-definitely worth checking out!
