Girl at the checkout? Not so much. On the phone the entire time, said absolutely nothing to us- no hello, no thank you. Nothing. Basically threw the machine at us. Beyond the awful checkout experience it's a must visit.
Good smoked meat sandwich..generous portions.loved the poutine more than the sandwich
Uh. Kind of underwhelming. They hype up this old place like no tomorrow. First time going there , we went on a quiet not busy evening , we went & immediately walking into the door we were greeted rudely by some older gentleman asking us to sit what are you standing around for . (How polite ) . We asked what to get so we got their famous meat, even the waiter had a cocky attitude. . All we could hear was that older gentleman boosting to maybe his coworker right at the entrance of how this place is the best it's the best bla bla .hyping it up to everybody that could hear him . Overall the men working there all seemed to be PMS'ing . I don't know why they all are so rude & rowdy? The shop was not even busy but they rushed us like crazy as soon as we entered the place when we just wanted to take our time to checkout the menu we were just taking a few things to go . The attitude is like Y'all acting like you're in New York City don't know what the appeal is I guess. The food on the other hand... It was ok. It was not very tasty . , felt unseasoned, felt very dry , like eating rubber shoes. I've had better pastrami at other places. Least I can say it just average smoked meat Overall , the shop looked nice , old timey inside.it has its potential . Overhyped. But guys fix the attitude . Act civil. Be a gentleman. This isn't the Bronx Zoo or Brooklyn it's Montreal Canada . Relax ✌🏼
Fila de espera pero la verdad es que se avanza bien ya que el servicio adentro va rápido. Vale la pena esperar unos minutos para probar al menos una vez. En lo personal me gusto y si volvería.
Smoked meat is tender & tasty. Pickles are good, & black cherry cola is delicious. Fries are very average.
Food is excellent, weird &charming, with 100s of pictures on the wall. Excellent food, also not expensive. Usually a queue to get in. Don't expect hygiene standards of a chip factory.
C'est bon, mais ça dépend des fois! Ce n'est pas de la viande fumé comme la belle province metton, bien meilleur par contre desfois trop sec...
The famed Deli that Celine Dion part owned! We tasted the smoked meat, it is tender & juicy, not too salty which is suitable for Asians like me (Singaporean) & best of all, the price is around CAD14 which is very very reasonable for it's size. One of the places that I will probably come back if I got the chance to do so! Oh, we were lucky that there was no queue when we reached the place around 11am, your mileage may varies.
Good smoked meat sandwiches in an old school Hebrew deli setting, with super tight seating. Fun traditional experience with good food. Worth a visit to this very popular place.
Best smoked meat sandwich, not just in Montreal, ever!! If you dine in, try the poutine too.
Went on Saturday night almost closing time & got served in less than 5 minutes.
Meat is great but there are not enough sides to add to it, consider adding bread, rice, pita, something. Also the place it too small. You are forced to seat shoulder to shoulder with 2 other strangers. They should expand the restaurant to nearby locations.
