I realy do not understand why is this place so popular. & why the people stand outside in a line.The meal is just a meat slices put in plain bread.....🤭
I heard a lot of good things about Schartz's so I decided to try it. Unfortunatly the meat was so dry & barely tasty & over price.. there are other places with better smoke meat...
Mostly go there for lunch, it's honestly less busy. There is also another shop beside. Mostly for to-go, it is also quite busy 😂 & they ask you sometimes if you want your smoke meat with or w/o fat. Take the fatty one, you won't be disappointed.
The smoked meat sandwich was fantastic, with meat that melts in your mouth-highly recommend! However, the Schwartz poutine was disappointing. Despite the delicious gravy, it had very little smoked meat, & the fries were burnt & stale. I wouldn't recommend it. The sitting area is so limited that there were about 30 people outside under the scorching sun waiting to be seated, while there's not much merit in sitting in the dining area anyway. The takeout side on the other hand, was well-managed & the line was almost non existent. I would recommend choosing takeout instead.
Legendary place. Still delivering the same feeling, experience, & quality that I've been coming back for since the 90s. Viande fumee medium fat, forever!
Classic Montréal deli with excellent smoked meat. It has the kind of atmosphere that other places try to simulate. Plan on an early lunch or late breakfast to avoid long lines. The classic order is the smoked meat sandwich with a cherry cola. Popular sides include sour kosher pickles & Cole slaw. It's one of those classic meals you have to have a least once.
Go in there, get a smoked meat sandwich, thank all of the life choices that have led you there & eat up!! This is second only to a few locations in the famous lower east side in NYC, & even then gives it a run for its money. Couldn't recommend this spot enough!!
Une légende est tombée... ça fait du mal à dire mais le meilleur smoked meat de Montréal n'est plus. 50% de la viande n'est devenu que du gras, les frites mal cuites, bref... si je venais à parler du service je n'en finirai plus. Cela m'attriste de le dire mais ce n'est plus ce que c'était.
La renommée de ce restaurant est surfaite... Pour l ambiance....oui! Service sans aucun sourire On nous donne un verre d eau...tiède 😱 14,80$ pour un sandwich smoked meat sans aucun accompagnement.... 4.80$ pour une portion de frites médiocre... Ça a déjà bien mieux auparavant...
