We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Everyone working in the kitchen is meticulous. Vegetarian options make it one of the best places in Montreal. The food tastes really good. Every server bent over backwards to get us any drink. After being in business for 16 years, they know the formula.
Absolutely loved my experience at Sattay Brothers! Having visited multiple times, I can confidently say they never disappoint. On a busy Friday night, the atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, & the food, service, & ambiance were all top-notch. We arrived a few minutes early, & the staff kindly directed us next door to Rye Bar to wait, where the bartender served us promptly. By the time our drinks were ready, our table was also available. Our server, Masyn, was incredibly attentive, friendly, & efficient-making our evening even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Sattay Brothers for anyone seeking delicious, affordable food with a cool & inviting vibe. I absolutely love this restaurant & can't wait to return!
Ambiance & decor is very cool. First time enjoyed the food selection & drinks, although it was a bit loud. Tried it for a second time & have to say the food was mediocre & service wasn't great. Depends on what you're looking for if it's more of an ambiance vibe with drinks this is a good spot but food & service could be better in my opinion.
Exceptional service! Unbelievably delicious plates, desserts, & drinks. I ordered the laksa, & ketan, & calamansi. Affordable prices. An unmissable gem! Must-try!!!
I'm a super picky meat eater & loved coming here! All meat options were flavorful. Was nice to see Caribbean esc. Options that are shared with south East Asian cultures. Would come back 100x over. Had a little wait but not more than 15 minutes. We ordered drinks @ their waiting bar right beside.
The wait was way tooooooo long.. They put you in a waiting lounge where you can get drinks, but it's not comfortable enough to make it ok to wait an hour to get a table.. Then if you're 2 people they will sit you with strangers & it's so loud you have to scream... We were there for almost 3 hours, the food was amazing though.. But the wait time & no reservation for less than 6 people will make me think twice to go again.
we came here last year & it was amazing so went again & this time it tasted different. it was good, but not great. Rendan beef was too salty & spicy to my taste. buns were good but nothing special. drinks were not impressive too. maybe they changed menu or some ingredients, but it's definitely not like a year ago.
Satay Brothers is a colorful restaurant serving Singaporean dishes, located near the popular Atwater Market. I visited on a Saturday evening, & the place was packed. There was a short line at the door, & we waited about 20-25 minutes before being seated at the bar, which worked out just fine.
The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The host at the entrance, whose parents run the restaurant, was especially warm, & both the bartenders & servers were attentive despite the weekend rush. That said, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, I recommend putting in your order quickly since service can feel a little stretched when it's busy.
I ordered the Char Kway Teow ($20 CAD), a stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp, clams, & Chinese sausage. The flavors were good & matched the menu description, but my only disappointment was that the portion size felt quite small for the price.
The atmosphere is what really stands out: bright decorations, colorful energy, a mix of people enjoying both food & drinks, & hip-hop music adding to the vibe. It's definitely a spot for more than just eating-it feels like a place to hang out & soak in the energy.
Overall, Satay Brothers is a fun, vibrant place to enjoy Singaporean dishes in Montreal. If you want to avoid the wait, try going on a weekday, but if you don't mind the crowd, the weekend buzz is part of the experience.
It was unclear how to get a table. The host disregarded us & then sat us in a corner. It was extremely hot in there, especially where we were. Slower service as well. They brought the wrong drink, even though I ordered a different one. Cute atmosphere though & yummy food. Good place to eat before a night out. Highly recommend the pork belly buns.
A pretty chill bar like place with good food.
Ordered some of classics like the satay & the mi goreng. They arrived pretty fast & also tasted great. The mi goreng was tasted classic. The other noodles we got also tasted pretty good.
We also got some drinks. tried the Pandan cocktail & it was so good. The after taste of Pandan was especially nice while drinking.
The atmosphere & decoration was also really cool to see. Overall strong vibes!
Apprently groups of more than 4 don't get to choose what they want to order. I'm a big fan of Omakase & seasonal menus but this was literally the regular menu items you just don't get to choose... Food was hit or miss, bao buns & laksa are okay but that's about it. 1 drink we ordered was good the other was bad. Service was not great. After bringing up that one of the drinks tasted off I was argued with about what was wrong with it. I've been here a few years ago & it was good but wouldn't recommend it anymore. Prices are way too high for the quality you're getting.
We had a team event/dinner here & everything was managed so well! The server was able to take everyone's dietary requirements into consideration & remember it when serving such a big group of moving around people!! The drinks were a solid 10/10! We had a table full of multiple dishes & the standout for me was definitely chicken satay & baos!!! Melt in mouth!
It's a place to go to for drinks & to socialize. The food was good but I wouldn't go there just for the food. It is quite loud with a bar atmosphere.
Amazing food. Crazy fast service. Delicious drinks. Reasonably priced. Server Frank was honestly the best customer service I have ever received in my entire life. Recommend 100%, will definitively be back soon!
Satay Bros is a must when in Montreal! While you wait for your table, they have a bar next door complete with ample seating & a ping pong table for your entertainment. Our wait felt super short, & we didn't even finish our drinks. All of the food is delish, & we loved the bao buns, fried chicken & mee goreng.
Super fun atmosphere, amazing food, great drinks, awesome service. We were 9 dudes & we had a ton of fun. Our server asked for a bit of guidance to help shape the menu but not having to order individually made things so easy, & everything was really delicious.
Always a delight, & packed even on a Monday! Great drinks, service, food & vibes! My favourites are the pork bao buns, the chicken skewers & either the papaya salad or the spicy steak salad!!!
