Review Summary

At Sandwicherie chez ta mère, reviewers describe a cozy, welcoming spot with a homey, sitting-room vibe and friendly service. The bread is repeatedly praised as fresh, soft, and often the standout element in many sandwiches, with a diverse lineup that includes brisket, smoked meat, merguez, duck rillette, and vegan options. Portions are generous and the sandwiches feel hearty and homemade, though some notes mention price for size and occasional substitutions or changes that can affect allergies when not clearly indicated online. The atmosphere and the lemonade and desserts are highlighted as nice complements, while some reviews mention that coffee can be mediocre and quality can vary with menu changes. Overall, the place is seen as a reliable go-to for a quick, flavorful meal with a strong emphasis on homemade bread and a cozy vibe, attracting repeat visits from diners.

I've tried every sandwich they have & they're so filling & delicious & homey 🥰 I have a soft spot for the Raquel, Sandrine & the Sylvie, but they're all truly amazing. Every ingredients to their bread are homemade too ❤? I always stop here for a quick lunch when I'm in the area.

This sandwich cafe features a small menu of specialty sandwiches paying homage to various cultural diasporas found in the city. I went for the duck rillette, which was only a dollar more than the other selections. The space is eloquently presented as a sitting room put together by someone's mother. The vintage couches adds character to the space. Service was alright too. As for the sandwich itself, as regularly noted in reviews, the bread is the highlight. Perfectly fresh & soft, it almost doesn't matter what you throw in between with how amazing the bread is. I noticed in pictures from other reviews, my sandwich didn't have the same toppings as others. I had arugula loosely thrown in rather than lettuce. The layer of rillette was pretty thin, could have been a better portion given the price point. I would have been happy paying $15 for the sandwich but as it was nearly $20 it didn't really feel worth the price. But it was a tasty meal.

Top sandwich. Had the'special' brisket : meat, topings & bread were great. Value for price is good. Did not eat there (small but spot). Coffee was okay, but not great.

No hyperbole: the BEST smoked meat sandwich in Montreal. The bread, the meat, the flavours… spectacular!

Probably the best sandwich of this part of town. A bit pricy but it's really worth it! Bread was fantastic, recipies original & with quality ingredient.

I need to come back because it smelled so good in here but I unfortunately wasn't able to try the only vegetarian sandwich on the menu (they were out of tofu). That being said my husband got the sausage sandwich & he literally salivated the whole time. The bread was so good (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), with a homemade spiced tomato sauce & hot onions that smelled like home. I did try the almond croissant which was a little soggy (hence the loss of one star), but the almond paste was on point. Would definitely return to check out the stores in the area & finally taste that vegetarian sandwich (the description was enough to make me really excited).

This is my favourite sandwich spot in Montreal. Every single sandwich is absolutely delightful, the bread is the perfect texture & taste, perfect flavours, just a 10/10. The duck sandwich is my personal fav, but you literally cannot miss, as they all simply hit hard. The setting is also super cute, it's giving little salon de thé, they have a few tables outside in summer as well. Service is impeccable, extremely friendly & helpful staff.

The Maman Sylvie could not have hit the spot any more for my two teens & me after a very long ramble through the city. The bread was particularly excellent, which you can't count on even in an otherwise perfectly good sandwich. What a lovely little place!

Stopped here for lunch while shopping on mild end. We could barely read the menu(in French) but all ordered the meat sandwich & it was the most pleasant surprise. The bread, meat, cheese, & gravy were so flavorful. We all agreed this is one of our favorite things we ate in Montreal.
