After having an amazing experience eating there a few years ago, every time I am in Montreal, I make a special trip to the Rose Ross. This time, we had the'4 services' menu. I had a delightful white rum cocktail -- called Panango maybe -- with praline syrup (who knew!) to start. The food was superb -- from the amuse bouche that looked like a tiny empanada, through the main course of almost-melt-in-your-mouth Ballotine de lapin. Our server was lovely & quick to answer all of our questions. Additionally, I find the atmosphere & very imaginative faux-train-car decor distinctly relaxing & pleasant. I'm pleased to see that the restaurant has expanded into the spot next door -- I hope to try out that side the next time I'm in town.

Une belle decouverte en 2026. Nous avions reserver a la porte d a cote qui est le restaurant voisin qui partage la meme cuisine avec le rose ross. Cependant suite a une faute de reservation nous n avons pas eu notre table, mais le staff cest vu nous proposer le rose ross juste a cote.
Agreablement surpris par le decor chaleureux & conviviale.
L acceuil & tout le service fut des plus respectables & attentif que jai vu dans les derniers mois.
Le menu revisite plusieurs classics de la cuisine francaise avec une touche quebecoise. Coup de coeur pour le poirreaux vinaigrette en entree & le braisé de boeuf. Vous pouvez y aller en groupe mais je recommande au maximum un groupe de 6, parfait3-4 personnes. Carte des vins interessante & elle fait du sens au niveau prix avec ce qu on peut voir dans les restaurants de nos jours
I've been wanting to visit Rose Ross for a long time, & I was really happy that I finally did it for the Montréal à Table event. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the full wall of wine bottles adds such a charming atmosphere to the space. It's a small restaurant, but very cozy.
The service was perfect, maybe a bit over-faked at times, but still attentive & friendly. For my starter, I ordered the Choux de Bruxelles salad, & it was amazing. The mix of crispy choux, fresh vegetables, & that citrusy sauce with a hint of pepper created a really nice balance of flavors.
For the main course, I had the filet de truite with vegetables, cooked well, flavorful, & beautifully presented. For dessert, I took the cake aux pêches which was just okay. I was a bit disappointed, as I expected more flavor & a more moist texture. It was also slightly burned on the outside.
Considering it was a special Montréal à Table menu, I found the pricing very reasonable for the quality & atmosphere.
My friend ordered the gros choux dessert, which came with a small $4 extra charge, but it was absolutely worth it. The presentation was beautiful, & the taste was even better.
Très contente de cette nouvelle décoration qui fait voyager & qui calfeutre le bruit, ce qui est rare à Montréal (pouvoir s'entendre parler). Nourriture toujours excellente, service impeccable & bons conseils.
Mais quelle cuisine incroyable dans un décor parfait avec une ambiance chaleureuse & un bon service. Merci pour tout. On va se revoir!
P.S. La musique était bonne aussi & essayer le menu 4 services !
