The smoked meat sandwiches were amazing! We enjoyed them so much we went back the next day. Very flavourful & juicy.
Our server Claudia was exceptional! Best service experience, we will definitely go back again.
It's a bit hard to find since it's a hole in the wall but from when we entered until we left we were taken care of by the staff. Thank you to Ablie & Margaux for taking care of us, they were amazing! The food was so good & will definitely be coming back on our next visit
Meat quality not even close to what it used to be! We both ordered lean but got what tasted more like medium-fat meat! A tall can of beer will cost you $14 (+tax) & their strawberry cheesecake is now $15 a piece even though it's half the size of what it used to be! Dinner for 3 people (smoke meat, fries, beer) was $190….& it wasn't even good!
The food was excellent, offering generous portions & great flavor. Service was efficient, & the server was professional & attentive. I would recommend this restaurant.

First of all, the restaurant itself looks amazing - very comfortable sofas, well-spaced tables, & a beautiful design. I honestly didn't expect such an atmospheric place, especially knowing the prices beforehand (which are surprisingly affordable for a place like this).
We ordered the onion soup, served with a rich cheesy topping - it was absolutely delicious. To be honest, after the soup alone I already felt full & completely satisfied😁
But we didn't stop there & ordered a smoked meat sandwich. It was outstanding: a huge portion with incredibly juicy meat & wonderful bread, very soft inside with a crispy crust served with fries on the side🤤
I don't live in Montreal, but we love this city & visit it often just to enjoy our time there. Now I know for sure that we'll also be enjoying great food every time we come. You can really feel that everything in this restaurant is prepared with care & soul😌
/ The tourists freeze their ears off, standing motionless in line on Saint-Laurent Street. Meanwhile, the locals know better: they step inside, warm & sheltered, to savor a smoked meat that's simply superior. & I discovered too late - like a secret whispered after the fact - that they also serve beer...
I wasn't feeling well on my way to Reuben's & almost turned back, but I'm glad I didn't. When I arrived, I told the server I was taking out, & he still kindly offered me water - a small gesture that already showed how thoughtful the staff are. I ordered their famous smoked meat sandwich (which lived up to the hype!) but had to step away for a while because I felt really sick.
When I came back, the owner noticed & asked if I was okay. I told him I wasn't feeling well, & he immediately offered me a bottle of Perrier to help me hydrate - & wouldn't even let me pay for it. That simple act of kindness genuinely made my day & helped me feel better.
It's rare to find that kind of care & humanity in a busy restaurant. Beyond the great food, Reuben's has truly wonderful people. Highly recommend.
Meilleur salade César de ma vie ! Je mange là depuis enfant & ma mère mangait là enfant aussi & c'est devenu notre incontournable lorsqu'on vient à Montreal. Cheesecake = un must !
The meat lacks flavour. It's stacked in a one sided fashion. So the half sandwiches have the shape of triangles in cross section. The fries were cooked in over hot oil & had that chemical burnt type flavour. As a two day visitor to Montreal I feel as if I've squandered an opportunity. I'm really looking forward to Schwartz's tomorrow for lunch.
Food was a good portion for the price paid but not very good, the service was absolutely amazing & the restaurant had this speakeasy vibe which was quite cool but the machines made an annoying noise & a man behind the bar was speaking loudly into a speaker to the kitchen but we could hear it
