The drinks were great, vibe was great, but the food was spectacular. I ordered the jerk chicken & it was literally so good I ordered another one to take home with me. I still think about this meal to this day. Would highly recommend.View more

Tried Palme Restaurant for a solo lunch recently-it's just a five-minute walk from my office, so perfect for a midday break. First thing I appreciated: they offer a lunch menu, but only Thursdays & Fridays from 11:30 to 3 PM. A nice little treat if you're nearby & want something a bit special without overthinking it.
I ordered the fried chicken bowl & asked if I could add a half-portion of sweet potato fries. The staff was super accommodating about that. Heads up: portions are generous. I couldn't finish it all, but trust me, that fried chicken is worth pacing yourself for. Light, crispy outside, juicy inside, with a thin honey sauce that's subtle-just enough to tie it all together without making the chicken soggy or overly sweet. One of those bites where you pause & think,'Okay, they get it.'
They also include their homemade pikliz, which is spicy (the real kind, not the'hint of spice' kind). So if you're new to Haitian cuisine, be ready for a kick-it's the good kind of heat, though, fresh & sharp.
The only thing I wasn't entirely sold on was the mesclun salad. A few leaves felt either a bit wilted or too wet, not sure if it was old greens or maybe just a heavy hand with the vinaigrette.
All in all, it came to about $30 with tax & tip, which felt fair for the quality & amount of food. Especially nice if you're looking for something flavorful & filling but not overly heavy for lunch.
Would I go back? Absolutely-especially if I'm craving that fried chicken again.View more
The food was lovely & the cocktails were incredible, but it all felt a tad overpriced, maybe mostly because we stuck to the chicken dishes. They were very accommodating about the seafood Allergies at the table. The plantains in particular were super flavorful. We were among the only in the restaurant, together with another group of loud patrons who were having the time of their lives (but sadly made it impossible for us to hear each other for a little bit)View more
Thoroughly enjoyed the Artibonite Chicken. Really tender & super well-seasoned. The griot plate was ok. The meat was too dry. The rice for both dishes were top notch.View more
Absolutely amazing in every way. The jerk chicken comes with plantains & salad & is so flavourful. The service was great & so were the drinks I will definitely be coming backView more

Jerk chicken is a beloved dish with a unique blend of spices & flavors. When the preparation falls short, it can be disappointing. The key to great jerk chicken lies in the marinade - a perfect balance of spices, heat, & time to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat. When done right, jerk chicken should be juicy, tender, & bursting with Caribbean flavors. I paid for the food because I understand the work behind it! I asked to make it a takeout after the first bite..overall very disappointing. A joke thing that .View more

Update 2023: we finally visited the restaurant as a group of 5. The food & the service were ok, however the cocktails were great. The waitress forgot to tell us that iur choices were not available anymore & were replaced but they did a commercial gesture. We'll go back because we liked the place & the choices. One of the best restaurant I've tried here. The food is fresh & tasty. I think I've ordered there at least 3-4 times since the beginning of the pandemic & was never disappointed. The Jerk chicken is delicious & so is the griot. 100% recommendedView more
It is always a very nice experience to try new things. However, the fried chicken bowl is not as good as the Korean ones (personally, I would like the chicken to be salty & spicy rather than sweet). In Chinatown, the fried chicken in face of chez Chili is much better. // the sweet potato soupe is very creamy & very yellow, some people might like it. // my vegetarian friend likes his soupe a lot.// his salad sucks( but that's my opinion, he likes it a lot), the dessert tres leches is very tasty //en resume it's an interesting place worth trying, but the chicken is too dry & bland for me.View more
This place AMAZED me which is honestly a feat. So well executed on every single aspect. I was not even planning to come here, was just passing by & the menu caught my eye. One of the employees joyfully invited me in - I already had my eyes on the seafood mac n cheese so that's what I ordered. While I waited for my food, I thoroughly took in & enjoyed the decor to this place. Elegantly put together, this place is adorned with photos, figurines & lots of plants. The plants really give this place a relaxing & pleasant air to it. The other employees' service was just as splendid as the first who brought me in. Now let's finally get to the food - This mac & cheese wasn't as thick as I would have liked, but still interestingly seasoned & very tasty. It also came with three amazing pieces of fried chicken. I have to say the chicken was better than the mac & cheese. The skin was so deliciously seasoned & prepared. Perfect texture on the inside. No exaggerations when I say this was the absolute best Caribbean restaurant experience I've ever had (Toronto experiences included) & overall one of the best culinary experiences I've had in Montreal.View more
