When the preparation falls short, it can be disappointing. The key to great jerk chicken lies in the marinade - a perfect balance of spices, heat, & time to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat. When done right, jerk chicken should be juicy, tender, & bursting with Caribbean flavors. I paid for the food because I understand the work behind it! I asked to make it a takeout after the first bite..overall very disappointing. A joke thing that .View more

Great Caribbean food. I don't like very spicy food & they were very up front that some of their food was quite spicy. Their drinks were DELICIOUS. no dessert menu :( but my dining partner had a dessert shotb that he enjoyed.View more
Palme has a laidback modern aesthetic that celebrates the Caribbean diaspora through food, music, & art. Walking in to the restaurant, you are immediately transported to a warm climate with palm trees, warm muted greens, & beige. The art on the walls celebrate black culture with portraits hung along the walls. &, the playlist has a super chill 90s/00s hip-hop vibe that you will never hear at neighboring venues. In one word, the atmosphere is DOPE. Palme also has an extensive rum list that will indulge anyone that has a keen taste for the liquor & knows that each island has their local favorite. For food, there is a balanced juxtaposition between sweet, spice, & savory. This is one of the few places in Montreal where I don't ask for salt & pepper on the side. The heat that is created from spicier dishes is warming rather than cutting, so don't be intimidated by the spices here. Menu highlights include: Accras de morue - Anyone who has been to Barbados will immediately be reminded of fish cakes! It is fried dough mixed with cod, herbs, & spices. Salade de griot - Pork & sweet potatoes with a tangy/sweet sauce over salad Saumon sur polenta de patate douce - This is fabulous! The salmon is soft & served over a sweet potato polenta that has a tangy sauce with crispy plantain & vegetables. It comes with a little warming heat that feels just right as we drift toward the cold months.View more
This place AMAZED me which is honestly a feat. So well executed on every single aspect. I was not even planning to come here, was just passing by & the menu caught my eye. One of the employees joyfully invited me in - I already had my eyes on the seafood mac n cheese so that's what I ordered. While I waited for my food, I thoroughly took in & enjoyed the decor to this place. Elegantly put together, this place is adorned with photos, figurines & lots of plants. The plants really give this place a relaxing & pleasant air to it. The other employees' service was just as splendid as the first who brought me in. Now let's finally get to the food - This mac & cheese wasn't as thick as I would have liked, but still interestingly seasoned & very tasty. It also came with three amazing pieces of fried chicken. I have to say the chicken was better than the mac & cheese. The skin was so deliciously seasoned & prepared. Perfect texture on the inside. No exaggerations when I say this was the absolute best Caribbean restaurant experience I've ever had (Toronto experiences included) & overall one of the best culinary experiences I've had in Montreal.View more

I was very excited to try a Caribbean restaurant in this area. The atmosphere & service was great. The food was tasty, but a bit of a let down as I was expecting Caribbean flavor. I know it’s a fusion, but some items should stay authentic. The food did not match the words on the menu. Jhon jhon rice should ALWAYS be black. The rice I got was brown. The jerk salmon had 0 & I mean 0 jerk flavor. I thought I ordered the wrong meal. I tasted no cod fish in the acra. The food was good, but I do not see much Caribbean influence in the flavor.View more
This was their goat on special with rice & peas, plantains & a salad. I didn’t really have any expectation for Caribbean food in Montreal but it was pretty good. I preferred the rice & peas & salad over the goat. The goat was seasoned well but over cooked.
The restaurant was good vibes & is a good pregame spot if you were getting ready to listen to Caribbean music. They had a DJ & it was pretty lively. Nice spot for a night out in Montreal.View more
I love Caribbean food & OMG what a wonderful find in the heart of the Village! The food is fantastically exquisite as well as the rum selection; the waiter was amenable & very attentive; the ambience & music are reminiscent of the islands! If you like to try con-fusion cuisine, you will definitely enjoy the restaurant Palme! Yummy!!
