Afficher toutpizza(65) italian(25) pasta(23) bread(15) sauce(13) oven(13) salad(11) highly recommend(10) recommend(10) fresh(10) tasty(10) cozy(9)Absolutely love it here, it's the most cozy & sweet restaurant in downtown Montreal. The music & ambience make you feel like you're in a little Italian cafe. The pasta is delicious & made with fresh ingredients. The pizza was slightly hard, but still delightful! Wonderful service & atmosphere, we love coming here!
Not bad at all. I just wished the dining room was cleaner & better heated during my visit. As other reviewers have reported, the dining room was FILTHY (I saw crumbs a used toothpicks on the carpet), & there were plenty of workers standing around at the counter area (not in the kitchen). But I enjoyed my salad, bread, & pasta.
The fresh baked bread is amazing. Food is delicious & service was attentive. Had a pizza the first night & liked it so much came back for the pasta another night.
Very happy we found this restaurant for a birthday dinner, group of 5. We made a last minute reservation & were able to secure a table.
Very cozy & lovely decor & atmosphere. We felt like we had flown to Italy for the evening.
Wonderful very reasonably priced table d'hote, very good portions & extremely tasty, from the soups, salads, to main dishes & desserts. Our group had veal, chicken, shrimp & pasta as main courses as well as pizza & everybody was very satisfied with their meals.
The only recommendation for the kitchen would be to time things better so that all appetizers & mains are served at the same time. There was a lag between the soups & salads & the pizza was served about 15 minutes before those having other main courses.
Great value & we all agreed that would gladly return ! Thanks
We ordered two pizzas & pasta, pizzas were served quickly & it took over 30mn & I am still waiting to get the pasta. The service was very bad & no attention to clients. We had to ask for everything's as nothing was suggested to us.
Bad experience
After arriving late in Montreal I was looking for a place for dinner. I was not disappointed with the food. I got a seafood pasta & it was absolutely delicious!
I used to love this place what happened?! The service has gone down the drain the spot seems like it needs lots of love & a revamp. Its just not whst it used to be the quality has gone fiwn immensely. The pasta I ordered was so dry & lacked sauce & personality. Very disappointed. Unfortunately will no longer be returning.
A cosy authentic Italian restaurant. The crunchy bread rolls are delicious, pasta servings are very generous & the wood-fired pizza is very good.
The mens bathroom needs fixing, & it is definitely not in the norms of health & safety for restaurants. Doors dont lock, & the bathrooms are dirty. The bathrooms need to be as clean as the kitchens. Pasta isnt home made ( maybe the sauce ), & the pizzas are made from scratch.
Avoid the pasta with seafood. It didn't taste right, was not al dente & gave me a very bad upset stomach. Also, I was offered parmigiano with it which is heresy :-) ! The baked eggplant were ok. On the positive side, service is good, prices are not too high & the bread is made on the spot in the wood fired oven. Bottom line: not authentic Italian but will hit the spot, just don't order iffy stuff.
The best alfredo pasta that i've ever had & the calzone was amazing! The escargot was excellent. You will leave with a take out container no matter what you get. The price is very affordable...especially when yoi have enough for 2 meals.
On vacation in Montreal, kids were craving for pasta for dinner, saw this place near by our hotel. I know the reviews weren't up there, but figured reviews aren't always accurate. Just like my previous experience in Brussels, a high google review restaurant but turned out to be a tourist trap. So this Italian restaurant was decent, 3.9 stars was just about right. We ordered Penne with pink sauce with meat balls, & chicken fettuccine Alfredo & a large Caesar salad. Everything turned out okay, only the meat ball was kinda flaky, it wasn't as good as traditional meat balls. Caesar salads were mediocre at best with bacon bites. Usually Caesar salads don't have bacon bites. But the ladies that took our order was friendly & nice. Which is a plus for services. But the restaurant really needs some update, as it feels like outdated pizzeria in the 1980s.
Very nice atmosphere & old Italian style. The service is very fast, our waiter was very attentive. Fettuccine pasta was amazing. Veal cutlet was too salty. If you order from the table d'hote, which was reasonably priced, you'd get salad or soup of the day for appetizer + dessert, tea, or coffee on the main course.
The restaurant looks & feels authentic I had the Tortellini gigi wasn't a fan of of the pasta but I loved the sauce & the mushrooms & the big bits of bacon. My wife had the linguini vongole it was good she enjoyed it.
Huge portions, some of the best pasta I've ever had, fresh warm bread for free & a beautiful interior.
The food was okay & the server force us to tip at the end. But great choices on the menu. Found eggshells in my carbonara pasta.
