They just racked up 14,000$ fines for dirty kitchen , infested with mice & rats. FILTHY kitchen. Flour bags eaten by mice & rats. (See photos) Mold & filth on ovens.
The restaurant was warm & cozy except whenever the outside door was opened. I looked forward to the authentic pizza oven 🍕. Ordered a Caesar salad to start & was surprised by the fake bacon bits & tiny store bought croutons. Lettuce was fresh though. The chef's pizza was good although missing the sausage that was advertised. Service was efficient but not friendly.
The pizza 🍕 is delicioso! So tasty. Garlic bread amazing! Done in wood oven. Enhancing the taste. Service was excellent & amazing! Atmosphere is very cozy!
Been talking about going here for years but never got around to it. I regret not going sooner. A bit of nostalgia with the checkered red & white table cloth's & relaxed atmosphere. The food was great, you can't go wrong with a real wood fired oven pizza or calzone. The service was amazing. The only small thing I noticed was the lighting as there was alot of mismatched bulbs, as in ultra bright whites & subdued off whites. Easy fix. Will be back!
Restaurant Siciliana had a somewhat authentic Italian feel to it, with a cozy atmosphere. The food had great flavor, & I enjoyed the tortellini soup & chicken parmesan. However, the chicken was so thin that it ended up overcooked & a little hard around the edges.
Unfortunately, the experience was marred by some issues. Some of the staff were sitting at tables playing on their phones & just staring around, which made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the restaurant was filled with fumes from the brick oven & looked smokey. You could see the black char going up the brick oven & on the ceiling tiles.
Overall, I would not recommend Restaurant Siciliana if you are visiting Montreal.
This was our first time here. The place was quiet & relaxed feel to it. We went around 6:20 pm. We ordered their minestrone soup, & it was delicious. We had pepperoni pizza, cooked in a pizza oven. The pizza was excellent.
Avoid the pasta with seafood. It didn't taste right, was not al dente & gave me a very bad upset stomach. Also, I was offered parmigiano with it which is heresy :-) ! The baked eggplant were ok. On the positive side, service is good, prices are not too high & the bread is made on the spot in the wood fired oven. Bottom line: not authentic Italian but will hit the spot, just don't order iffy stuff.
Been going here for years & never seems to disappoint. The wood oven pizza is a must. Their linguini primavera in rosee sauce keeps wanting you to come back for more. Service is always friendly & pleasant & ambiance is definitely old school but intimate. A lovely place to dine-in.
Excellent brick oven pizza. It's not a brick oven heated by gas. They actually use wood to cook with.
