Food was fresh & delicious. Definitely worth a try. Our server was very good.
The code may have bugs, but the taste of this restaurant will not !
When I was a kid, the streets of Canton were lined with rows of fragrant clay pot rice sizzling outside of the food stalls, drizzled with oil & a special soy sauce. Just walking by ,it would make your mouth water. The chef would fan the stove while tilting the pot to ensure even heating…
In the downtown, Pinophyta uses a cast iron pot to cook the rice from top to bottom, resulting in a perfect crusty bottom without sticking to the pot. However, compared to Canton's clay pot rice, it lacks that charred flavor.
But I still finish a whole pot !
After exploring around McGill University, I found this Chinese restaurant. I tried the cold beef & spicy kelp?both were authentic & delicious. The braised pork intestine noodles were also amazing, with rich marinade & a flavorful broth. The attentive service & cozy atmosphere were a big plus. Highly recommend!
Still one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Montreal
Todo riquísimo. Algunas cosas pican bastante. Los arroces espectaculares.
My colleague brought me here for lunch as she is a long time regular. Very good quality food, beautiful lunch spot & great service. Daniel the manager is very charming & welcoming. The hot pots, soups & dumplings were great!
Incredible food. Easily the best clay pot rice in Montreal I've had so far. So we split a spicy beef clay pot rice, a mushroom clay pot rice, a hainanese chicken rice & a shrimp fried rice, the set meals also came with a soup which was quite nice. The best in my opinion was the mushroom clay pot & the hainanese chicken rice, both kept me salivating between bites. The best treat though of course is the crispy rice at the bottom of the clay pots. Bro I'd fight the table for the last bite of that. 10/10 I'd go again, & order less rice dishes & try some of the other stuff on the menu like those dumplings, because damn they looked good too. Oh yeah, interior & atmosphere was great, bring a date here, cause it does feel swanky.
