Afficher toutrice(40) chicken(22) noodle(22) clay(22) soup(16) chinese(16) dumpling(16) recommend(14) dishes(11) authentic(11) beef(10) clean(9)This place reminds me of home every time I visit. The food is authentically Cantonese & full of flavor. I love the hainan chicken rice & their noodles. The service is really friendly & welcoming. 100% recommended.
I feel sorry to rate 2/5 because Pinophyta has unique items, the service is so great, but the food really disappoints. This is the epitome of just because you are different, high quality, & put in a great effort it does not make you good.
First, if you are going to serve COLD blanched flavourless chicken (poulet salivant) then please clarify so. The fridge-cold chicken 🐔❄? was unexpected & unpleasant.
Secondly, the wonton soup hits you with a disappointing broth smell. Strange flavour & taste, & the meat inside the wonton not properly cooked, or wrong flavour idk (pork or beef + shrimp). It's weird bc it feels like they did put in a great deal of effort. I also found the noodles underwhelming, but still high quality, not cheap.
Good peanut butter dumplings 🥟 & the service from the dark haired lady (early 20s maybe) with glasses very polite & respectful.
Maybe the food is really authentically Chinese & my taste buds have adapted to Chinese-Canadian expectations too much. Until then, this place is only 2/5 for me, but I find it great others like it so much the average goes to 4.8/5, provided the reviews are authentic.
Worth a try, but expect very different & potentially unpleasant. Go if you want an unexpected experience while accepting the risk of positive or negative.
Fantastic authentic food! The claypot rice was delicious, & so were the appetizers. Will be coming back to try their noodles!
very authentic chinese cuisine, their cold chicken appetizers has a fair amount of chicken considering the price of the dish. we also ordered their scullion oil noodle, the noodles were sticking together & the dish was cold when delivered. despite the coldness of the dish everything was good. recommend the chili oil wonton, very nice taste & the filling was very tasty. would come back again!
Don't know how authentic their Hainanese chicken is, but it tasted unbelievably bland. Would not recommend if you're looking for a flavorful experience.
Very authentic Cantonese food. Claypot rice is SO good! Nice service too. Seafood spring roll is a must try. Wonton soup is a must have. Freshly homemade…
After exploring around McGill University, I found this Chinese restaurant. I tried the cold beef & spicy kelp?both were authentic & delicious. The braised pork intestine noodles were also amazing, with rich marinade & a flavorful broth. The attentive service & cozy atmosphere were a big plus. Highly recommend!
Still one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Montreal
The space is clean, bright, & spacious, the staff are friendly, & the food tastes genuinely authentic.
Great food & super friendly staff!
We ordered 3 dishes, & all of them taste exceptional. The century egg has a balanced flavour, the spicy chicken has a nice kick, & the pot rice is simply amazing.
Price is great for you get, very authentic!
Almost everything they have is to die for. From the dumplings, to the clay pot rice, to the noodles. It's a couple of older women cooking so the food is authentic & delicious.
