I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews. The food was appallingly bad. The one good dish was the oysters; their signature two dishes (egg, salmon) had this offputting fishy taste; their meat entrees were extremely bland with horrible texture. The service was slow & the space is cramped - the waiter bumped into my arm more than 5 times while trying to set ours & the table beside us (with no apologies). Extremely disappointing experience. There are so many longstanding gem restaurants, don't see this one lasting very long.

Had an incredible time at Parapluie. The owner was our server & she completely made our visit. The food was impecale, the cocktails were delicious & flowing, & I cannot wait to come back. I love it so much I got a tattoo of their logo.

The food has so many flavors, very umami & delicious! The ambiance is perfect & the team of servers are very friendly & add to the experience. We went on a weekday & the place was packed, which made it even more of a fun experience to dine there. Will definitely come back as the menu often changes !

Une première expérience absolument mémorable au Parapluie! Les saveurs, la fraîcheur des produits, le service chaleureux & attentionné, la beauté du décor, tout y était! Être assis au comptoir nous a permis de voir toute l'attention au détail portée aux plats & rajoute à l'expérience. Nous serons assurément de retour!

Première visite au Parapluie pour l'évènement de Montréal en Lumière. La cuisine était excellente & le service très attentionné.
PS: j'ai rêvé de la panna cotta au miel & pollen le soir-même tellement c'était délicieux 🤭

My danish boyfriend & I, we loved everything about Parapluie.
The ambiance is warm & energetic, the staff is amazing, welcoming & engaged with customers. The food is a delight, it has high intensity of flavours & umami (without butter to pimp the dishes), just excellent.
We will come back.

Une des meilleures table de Montréal. Service amical mais professionnel, on a tout prix sur le menu, c'était trop difficile de décider. Carte des vins complète, cocktail délicieux. Ont recent qu'il y a de l'amour dans se restaurant. Merci pour l'expérience.

We loved our dinner at Parapluie! It is such a sweet little spot. The food was fantastic, & so was the service. Sharing with four of us we tried almost everything on the menu.

Quelle belle soirée au comptoir à déguster des plats finement préparés par une brigade de feu! C'est dans une ambiance aux sonorités locales (une playlist francophones du répertoire québécois), que les chefs cuisiniers se font un plaisir à chantonner, que les plats s'enchaînent: crudo de pétoncles, truite au raifort, oeuf Mayo, steak poivre (que dire des fameuses frites du chef) avec des verres de vins bien choisis (local & étrangers).

Une excellente soirée remplie de saveurs, sourires, rires & expériences culinaire. Allez y en couple ou avec des amis - vous passerez une soirée mémorable !
Pour ma part, on reviendra !!

Highlight was 100% the service. Waiters were super accommodating, gave amazing cocktail & wine recommendations, & were absolutely lovely to speak to.

The food was a different story. We started with the Classic oeufs mayo with homard, which while unique, felt unbalanced & as if there was too much going on. The tarragon? Mayo didn't seem to fit quite well with the lobster - & the lobster bisque felt slightly soupy (too much sauce). The truite fondant on the other hand was excellent, fresh, & high quality- I definitely recommend this over the oeufs mayos

For the mains, we got the braised onion, which was delicious & perfectly sweet. Unfortunately, the beef tartare that accompanied it was also extremely sweet. & not in a good way. This was the true disappointment of the meal, & after having such high expectations & hearing amazing things about the tartare at parapluie. After having excellent beef tartare at other places such as Salle Climatisée, Casavant, Le Violon, & other top tier Montreal restaurants, this was honestly one of the worst beef tartares I've had not just in Montreal, but ever. The tartare was extremely sweet, to the point where it didn't even feel like I was eating a meaty, savoury main, & the sauce that came with it was too fatty & not acidic enough to balance out the flavours. I hope that the tartare I had was made on an off night, considering the exceptional reviews parapluie has previously gotten; even then, for a restaurant of this caliber, serving an unbalanced, sweet, beef tartare is unacceptable.

We ended up going to Salle Climatisée just down the road for dessert because of the sour (or rather sweet) taste the beef tartare left in our mouths.

The ambiance & decor was quite nice except for a large group seated right next to us - it felt awkward that we were the only 2 too in the small dining space that was mostly occupied by large groups except the bar.

Overall, I'm not too inclined to go back, but I can check parapluie off my list. The most satisfying thing about dining there was that I left without a huge hole in my wallet.

Nous avons aimé les plats & le service était très bon. Par contre, on a demandé conseil pour le choix des bouteilles de vin. On nous a présenté des choix. On a choisit sans ( malheureusement) demander les prix.
On s'est retrouvé avec deux bouteilles, une à 290$ & l'autre à 280$ ( sans savoir.)
Je pense qu'à cette game de prix là tu le précises au client.
On a finit avec une facture par couple vraiment plus élevé que ce à quoi on s'attendait..
Donc penser à demander…

We went with high expectations given all the reviews & local hype. The food was mediocre at best. While conceptually, the menu was interesting, the actual plates were underwhelming.

The service was excellent except there being two times where we were served the dishes for another table--& quickly retreated by the waiter.
