Worst experience ever! Ruined my Mother birthday party!
As we had to run after them multiple times for basic services like getting water & the menu! We end up waiting for a long time! Then even more time before being able to order & them again more time to receive food! For the those who were lucky the food was not bad ! There'jasmine Rice's not good unless you like it soft & mochi ! We also had'the pleasure' of some lecture from the chef who clearly didn't took the criticism well as his claims was that we didn't understand this culture! I'm African & very very familiar with these dishes! Being to many other African restaurants that were far more delicious & less expensive than this one ! For me getting a lecture on dishes that I being eating since im alive by a chef that didn't even since to be in the kitchen most of the time as he seems to personally tend to other guests!
His attitude was Rude, Unprofessional! If U have a whole table telling you your food was not good maybe listen instead of talking!

Ps: it took close to 3 hours to get the whole foods!

Très belle déception hier soir pour ma soirée d' anniversaire dans ce restaurant Attente interminable, épouvantable j' allais dire. Personne pour nous donner le menu , nous avons attendu de 19h15 à 21h 30 pour être servis. . Nous avions demandé de nous servir au moins les entrées , malheureusement les nems étaient très salées. Le chef est passé nous faire la morale sur le menu. C' etait pas professionnel. Moi même étant de ce pays & ayant toujours mangé du yassa à Dakar . Ça a beaucoup gâché ma fête

We came here to celebrate my mother's birthday, & it ended up being one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've had.
We were seated quickly, but that's where the good part ended. It took 20-30 minutes just for someone to bring water, & a full hour before anyone came to take our order; we ended up having to flag someone down ourselves. When we asked how long the food would take, we were told 25 minutes. Instead, our first entrée arrived after an hour, & it was only for one person, the rest of our table waited another 10-15 minutes after that. In total, food didn't fully arrive until 2.5-2.75 hours after we sat down, & dishes came out separately rather than together. Orders were mixed up multiple times, & the chef was out front chatting with other guests while we sat there waiting.
The food itself was, at best, okay, but honestly not good. A lot of dishes were lacking in flavour & quality. The'jasmine perfumed rice' was just plain rice, & when I mentioned it, the chef argued that's just how he always makes it. If that's the case, change the menu description or don't sell it as jasmine rice. My partner's dish, a nut sauce he usually loves, was genuinely unpleasant & he couldn't finish it.
On top of that, the chef himself was unpleasant & did not take criticism well. When I told him the food wasn't good, he nearly started shouting at me, insisting it was just a matter of taste & that's how it's'supposed' to taste.
By the time everything arrived, we were too exhausted & hungry to actually enjoy the meal. We won't be returning, & I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's a shame, because this should have been a special night, & instead it felt like nobody there cared, from the slow service to a chef who can't handle honest feedback.

Le top du top, le restaurant est très luxueux & la nourriture est incroyablement bonne. Le chef est un maître dans l'art culinaire. Je recommande très fortement le Cauris qui est très bien situé à Montréal avec stationnement gratuit.

Nourriture fraîche, délicieuse & soignée. Une explosion de saveurs à chaque bouchée. Excellents drinks ! Une mention toute spéciale pour Ali & son service impeccable👌🏾🙏🏾❤? & MERCI au Chef pour son accueil chaleureux & pour l'ambiance musicale. 🥰 Ma fille & moi reviendrons c'est certain.

We celebrated my mother's birthday here. She was very happy. Very pleased with the service & food was excellent. We also met the chef very passionate about what he does. The services of Ali was also very appreciated. Thank you for making it a special experience.

L'accueil était vraiment chaleureux, & le chef est même venu nous saluer. La nourriture était excellente & sa présentation était tout simplement wow!

Nous y sommes allés lors d'une journée plus tranquille, donc il est difficile d'évaluer l'ambiance. Cela dit, nous avons adoré notre expérience & nous y retournerons certainement avec des amis ou en groupe.

Cauris bar restaurant est tout simplement à découvrir!!
Ali est très sympa, très disponible, l'ambiance;l'accueil;les repas sont superbes.
& le chef est cordon-bleu.
