The venue itself has a very classic look & the staff is super welcoming, gracious & give very good brunch recommendations 😇😇 We started with coffee & then I had the Rejuvenate smoothie which was so delicious ❤?❤? However, it was the main meal that we totally loved - Bobby Discovers Istanbul for me while my partner had I'll have it All 🙏🙏 Each bite whether it was the chicken patties or the naan or sausage or bacon or French toast was beyond delicious! Our full compliments to the chef for making such exquisite food with so much love & care 🙏🙏 I understand why there's usually such a big lineup but it's so worth it at this 11/10 brunch place ❤?❤?
We were a group of 4 & had an amazing experience at l'Avenue. It is SO worth the hype! It was the first time for two of us & the other two were returning customers. First of all let me just say the bloody caesar was perfect & exactly how it should be, I just don't understand why most restaurants can't get it right. I had the eggs benny with duck confit & truffle which was so rich & delicious, my friends ordered the shakshuka, & a melty egg, ham & cheese toast dish & the'undecisive'. Everyone loved what they ordered & there were no leftovers haha. Cody was our server & he made sure we were well taken care of. Actually we kind of had a small interaction with most of the staff & everyone was super friendly & made you feel like you are regulars! We felt very special & had the best day. Also worth mentioning the cool vibe of the restaurant.
Ordered the duck truffle on toast, wet & soggy toast, duck lost in a sea of watery muchroom sauce. Potatoes have a strange taste.
Only one real vegan option (adapted avocado toast) is available. The meal itself is fine; nothing crazy but a decent filling meal. I wish there were more fun vegan options but still grateful they were able to make me something! Service is attentive & fast, especially for such a busy spot.
Unfortunately the restaurant (inside) is very loud from both music & chatter so just not a pleasant start to the day for brunch with friends in my opinion.
Great place. Maybe a tad expensive for their fancy plates but their regular 2 eggs toast+meat is legit. Their homemade sausage is good, & the breakfast comes with beans. I'll come back for sure.
This place is the perfect brunch spot. The'Indecisive' platters help you have a taste of everything, & we thought it was all good. The pistachio cream french toast is incredible, as are their pancakes.
UPDATE 2024:
Sad to be reporting this place is no longer gluten friendly. It's rare I've seen a restaurant regress on offerings like this, but the potatoes now have gluten in their seasoning & they've removed the gluten free bread. The last photo is what I was able to eat 😅 unfortunately won't be swinging by here anymore.

2022:
Wow - this place is worth the hype !
Showed up on a Sunday just after noon with three friends & didn't have too long of a wait (maybe 15mins).
The servers were very knowledgeable regarding the menu & were able to point out all they could modify for my gluten + dairy allergy. I do wish they were just a little more present on the floor as we could have used more coffee haha.
Personally, I ordered the shakshuka with gluten free toast, it came with a side of potatoes & the whole thing was sooo tasty.
Two friends got the pecan French toast & said it tasted like a pecan pie. They highly recommended it. The last friend got the eggs Benny, she found it so delicious & filling she took the second half home.
Would 100% come by here again.
Visited on a Monday afternoon, so there were still some open seats when we arrived. We ordered the waiter's recommendations: the Truffle Duck Benedict & the Dubai Chocolate French Toast. Both dishes were quite good. The duck was flavorful & the potato side was especially delicious-highly recommend it! The pistachio butter in the French toast wasn't very strong, which was a bit disappointed. As for the mocha, the dark chocolate flavor was too strong covered the taste of coffee, a bit more like hot chocolate without overly sweet.
Overall, the service was friendly & attentive, & the staff were nice. The restaurant environment was also pleasant. A good spot for brunch.
I love Montreal
It's in a cool hip area
Food was great
Service was amazing
People were so nice
Affordable
I have some Indian egg dishe. It was great
The tiramisu french toast was delicious. But more of a dessert then a meal
Food is superb!!!!! Probably the best breakfast I've ever had. Organic eggs, Dubai French toast, fresh cream. I mean omg! Server was so nice & welcoming. Highly recommend!
Incroyable brunch! Copieux & délicieux j'ai pris l'indécis toast pacane! Merci à Laurie pour le service!!!
Tl;Dr - Upgrade your Benedict to a French toast base instead of English muffin for only $5, thank me later Just going to start off with, everything we ordered tasted amazing. Came here back in November 2023. We literally took 15 minutes going through the menu because it was so hard to decide what to order, everything looked amazing & sounded amazing. We decided on trying the avocado hummus with braised lamb & pomegranate seeds, a mushroom Benedict, & some pancakes. The hardest thing to decide was which 3 dishes to get, because we are not from Montreal & won't be coming back often. So we wanted to try as much as possible. Luckily, they have an option to switch out the English muffin & upgrade it to French toast for only $5. & yes, I definitely recommend ALWAYS doing that. I don't even like hummus, that dish was supposed to be primarily hers. But she just kept eating the French toast mushroom Benedict, & I ended up having most of the hummus, which was really good, especially for someone who doesn't like hummus. We also love how their potatoes aren't fried. Like 100% of all brunch places in Toronto does fried potatoes, & pretty poorly at that. It was so refreshing to have something different. Every time we go back to Montreal, or even pass by Montreal, this will definitely be a stop we will be making.
OMG! I urge anyone & everyone to try this place. The food was cooked to perfection. We ordered a Benny, Shakasouka & the pecan French toast. Roy took such good care of us, his recommendations were on point. He was super attentive, really friendly & made our overall dining experience spectacular. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10
Great music & decor. All the food was cold probably sat in the kitchen longer than should have. Scrambled eggs were dry so was the sausage, overcooked. The baguette toast was only buttered on one side. Slow getting that first cup of coffee. & the restaurant was mostly empty on a Thursday morning at 9h30...
Food was great, service was good. There was a mistake made on the order ( got pecan french toast but wanted pistachio) they fixed the mistake, told me to put a dent on it & then charged me for the extra.....bit it had not ordered that. I paid because I was part of a group & we needed to get going ,truly unimpressed & hope they do better & own up for their own shortcomings. I'll buy a bag of nuts at la branche d'olive next time, it'll cost me less than 9$
Amazing experience! I asked for a vegan option & Laurie helped me with kindness & a big smile! Delicious avocado toast with mushrooms! Loved it! It's was a birthday & she came singing Happy birthday IN SPANISH! Just lovely! Thanks Laurie! ❤️
Service was friendly, many options for side dish customization. Large portions, unique French toast & pancake styles were a hit. Smoothies are quite big, but easily shared between two people. Decorations remind you of being in a basement party in the 90's.
Absolutely in love with this restaurant! The ambience? Charming & fun! The service? Impeccable! The presentation? Aesthetically pleasing! The food? Delectable! 😍 I had the La Belle Truffe & my partner had the Pecan Pie French Toast. Just mouth-watering. The French toast tasted like cake. Maybe because we also drenched it in maple syrup. 😁🤪 Would go back here for another meal in a heartbeat! 🫠
