Vibrant brunch spot with an amazing menu of creative, comforting dishes. We tried the Indecisive Plate with lemon blueberry pancakes & the Saint-Ambroise Eggs Benedict, & both were absolutely delicious. The coffee is excellent too, especially the mocha & cappuccino. The service is warm & welcoming, & the retro, funky interior adds so much character. A fantastic spot for brunch that we'd happily return to.
Good food, good vibe & nice music & the best steak & egg.
Update after a few years : still our brunch place to go to all the time & new food menu is delicious too :)

we had breakfast at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very comfortable & full of character, & the food was generally quite good.
We ordered the French-style breakfast, which came with sausage & French toast. The French toast was filled with pistachio cream & paired with fruit & jam on top. The flavors worked really well together, & it was very tasty.
The only weaker dish was the Thai-style rice breakfast, which came with egg, minced meat, & rice. It didn't feel very authentic or traditional, & it didn't quite suit a breakfast setting.
Overall, the atmosphere was great, the portions were generous, & most of the food was enjoyable.
Fantastic experience! The Eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious & easily one of the highlights of our meal.
The atmosphere was warm & inviting, the service was quick & efficient, & David made the whole experience even better with his friendly & attentive service. Great food, great vibes, & great people. Highly recommend!
Visited back in April 2022. I had to leave a review after 4 years because I still dream about the steak & mushroom eggs benny I ate here. A bit on the pricier side but totally worth it. They've since opened a location in Toronto, which I've been meaning to try as well.
L'Avenue is by far one of the best brunch spots in Montreal. They do a fantastic job at plating the food, & every dish that passes you by on the way to another diner makes you wish you ordered that instead. The food is delicious! I had the Californian omelet, Wow! Cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, mushrooms, red onions, avocado, salsa & jalapeno cream, all on top of a giant fluffy egg pancake. Service is exceptional with a nice friendly staff. My only complaint is they still ask customers to use the pandemic era QR codes stuck to the tables, which is simply annoying 5 years post covid.... Especially since they have the most unique & interesting physical menus I've seen in a long time (you need to insist & they'll give you one).
INCROYABLE !
For the positives, the egg & steak meal was very good & the waiter was nice. However, unless you have time to waste, do not go here. It took us about 1 hour to get our meal & my wife's shakshuka came warm at best. It took them another 15 min just to reheat the dish. So after ordering, 1h15 to get eatable food & the shakshuka was just ok. Just asking for the bill took another 15 min. While the waiter was apogelotic, unless you like to wait in line to get seated, then wait 1h15 for your food then wait again for the bill that never comes, go elsewhere.
Very good experience, I had a friend reunion brunch, & it was the perfect place for that. Their got sauce is pretty good & matches super well with the egg & the hollandaise sauce. The matcha soy latte was good has well, I willl definitely go back!
