Probably the best breakfast I've ever had. Organic eggs, Dubai French toast, fresh cream. I mean omg! Server was so nice & welcoming. Highly recommend!
Came here on Thanksgiving Monday & it wasn't too busy! We were seated immediately & served by a polite server. We ordered a steak bennys & a Bobby does Dallas. Both were served hot, well seasoned, beautifully poached eggs, delicious but the beef was a bit tough. We were in & out in 45 minutes!
1 word: A vibe. We were lucky, & our wait was about 15 minutes for four people. The restoration decor is fun & trendy. Their bathrooms are great selfie spots!! But the food is to die for. We got the duck confit eggs bendedict, the red shaksuka & the huevos rancheros. The first two dishes are worth the hype & made me do little Dances as we ate. The huevos rancheros were a bit disappointing (sorry) but as a Mexican I have to give a critique. They lacked any rich flavours that didn't make the dish stand out.
Great music & decor. All the food was cold probably sat in the kitchen longer than should have. Scrambled eggs were dry so was the sausage, overcooked. The baguette toast was only buttered on one side. Slow getting that first cup of coffee. & the restaurant was mostly empty on a Thursday morning at 9h30...
Well now we know. We have passed this breakfast/brunch mainstay for years as we simply didn't want to wait the line. Well, next time we will wait, because it was WORTH THE WAIT. The ambiance is hip, cool & relaxed. The service by DAVID was spot on. The food was certainly a grade above other breakfast restons we frequent. The attention to detail was apparent at every turn, Himalayan (red) salt, real maple syrup (not "strop de poteau") organic eggs, & HAM that rivals le petit Poucet, but IN TOWN. I had the Ranchero burrito, my partner the complete breakfast. We also started with a mimosa, to warm us up for an awesome experience. L'Avenue, we will be back!
