Arriving late in Montreal we needed a meal. Found La Mer Rouge nearby & had really nice grilled fish & shrimp. Very friendly, reasonable prices, lots of flavor!
First time here & the food was great! I had the shrimp tempura & it was nice & fresh, the shrimp & the potatoes were super crisp. We also had the fried calamari, so good! The owner is super nice & friendly, he even lowered the music so we could talk more :) Everything on the menu is affordable, we'll be back!

EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: Your in store menu is inaccurate because the mussels is written 18$ & the soft drinks are 2$. You CAN'T deny it. If you physical menu is inaccurate then you have to change it or mention to the customers. Again, dishonesty. You mention if we wanted more shrimp we should have order it? Doesn't change the fact that customers before received more. If you changed the menu then I can accept the answer. But you can't say if we wanted more we should've order more. The problem was that it wasn't fair. You also mention about the water, like I said it wasn't a big deal so I won't get into it. + it's sketchy to not have a bill printed. Customers don't know you charge more then on the physical menu Original Review: We came as 2ppl on Tuesday night. Order spaghetti, shrimp à l'ail & mussels & 2 soft drinks. Restaurnet does not follow GST Tax exemption. They also use a calculator to calculate your bill so no printed bill. My subtotal should be (20+20+18+4=62$) then 62+ 9.975% = 68.18$ but i got charge 71.4$ before tips. It is not much but it is dishonest In addition, a small issue is that the waiter did not bring water. It is not a big problem because in the end we didn't ask for it but most restaurant will atleast ask you if you want water. We ended up with soft drinks (2$/each) 2nf of all, the shrimp which cost 20$, contained 6 shrimp! In the recent images we saw on other reviews, it was around 10. When we were eating we didn't complained because we thought it is what it is. When I got home to initially leave a good review, I saw the difference of the portion. Which led me to count the wrong pricing too. I left a 15% tip but honestly it was because it tasted good & the overall the waiter did his job. Overall, food was good but felt like we got scam
It is one of the best fish restaurants in Montreal, the fish & shrimp were fresh, the spices were great. The service is good & the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it

This has always been a seafood lover's hidden gem. Not a lot of people know that they probably have the best calamari in MTL. Rayan's is delicious, but they certainly have the best spices & much better fried seafood there is than other seafood restaurants. The shrimp & calamari are the go to, they are crispy & super fresh!
At first guy at the counter seemed a bit grumpy & impatient (I think he's the owner) but after talking to him more times he seemed nicer. The lady server (it seemed she's his wife) was always super nice.
Tasty salad & fries, crunchy delectable fish. Calamari was on point & the garlic shrimp & octopus were awesome too.
Overall experience in the end I'd give 6 stars if I could. Fast, good service with really great good. Will definitely come back. :)
Hanane was our waitress & was so sweet & kind. The food was delicious specially the garlic grilled shrimp. We also enjoyed Oum Ali dessert. Highly recommend it.

Food was yummy I liked it. Was not wow but was ok. I ordered grilled shrimp & the seasoning was ok. It tasted different, not sure if it is a good different or a bad different. But it was ok so i would give it 7/10. Fried calamari was flavourful but over cooked so I would give it 6/10. Grilled salmon was yummy & cooked to perfection so I would give it 8/10. Also a side if vegetables was a bit salty but yummy actually, I would also give it 8/10. We ordered a side of Sayadeya rice & I won’t recommend it. It was very plain, soggy & no taste.
Service, was “Meh” I ordered water & the cup was all smudged, no was an ew for me. So I did not touch it. The lady came to check on us i asked for another one with some ice, she said sure & she never brought anything. The bill for what you can see in the pictures including the rice, it cost $153🧐 waaaaaay over priced! Also, Inside the Restaurant was so hot i am not sure if the AC was broken or what? But it was boiling hot inside & was not that clean as well.
So overall experience I would give it 5/10.
