Review Summary

Renzo Sandwich has become a popular destination in Montreal for its generous, deli-style sandwiches that feature fresh, high-quality ingredients and artisanal bread. While many patrons praise the vibrant retro atmosphere, quick service, and standout items like the Renzo Chicken, the classic subs, and the key lime pie, opinions remain divided regarding consistency and seasoning. Some diners find the portions substantial and well-balanced, whereas others feel that certain sandwiches lack flavor or are disproportionately large, leading to messy eating experiences or a perceived lack of ingredient balance. Although seating is limited and wait times can be significant during peak hours, most visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the overall culinary creativity, making it a frequently recommended spot for those seeking a hearty, flavorful meal in the neighborhood.

I'm always skeptical when it comes to sandwiches, it is not something I go out of my way for, but Renzo was a pleasant surprise. I had the Renzo chicken & it was genuinely sooo tasty! The bread is fresh, but the sandwich is full enough that it doesn't feel like I'm only eating bread. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside & cripsy on the outside. & you get a huge sandwich on top of that! Love that they cut them down in the middle so neatly. Prevents a lot of spills! The space inside is small but I'm not really worried about that. I will definitely be back to try another one!

The restaurant has a beautiful interior with stylish, colorful seating that creates a warm & inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly & polite, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The sandwiches were absolutely delicious, truly one of a kind. The combination of flavors was outstanding, & you can tell a lot of thought went into creating them. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, & unique.
The only small thing I would suggest is serving the sandwiches in a basket or on a tray instead of directly on paper. It would make the presentation even better. That said, the food was so good that I wouldn't take off a star for such a minor detail. I'll definitely be back!

Great veggies sandwich 😋🥪.

Sauce is amazing, the mozzarella Di buffala ❤? & the eggplant 🍆 all combine in this fresh baguette 🥖 🤤.

Highly recommend the spot.

One of the best sandwiches in the plateau area. What makes it so special is the bread. It is so fresh & unique & flavorful. I could just eat the bread. But of course, the meat & the toppings & the different sauces make it so much better.

This fried chicken Caesar sandwich?
Buddy… this thing slaps you in the face & says wake up.

You ever bite into something & just go quiet for a second? That's this wrap.

The chicken crispy like it's got something to prove. Not soggy, not pretending. Real crunch. Real deal. Like it just came out of a fryer that respects itself.

Then you got that Caesar garlicky, creamy, a little punchy. Not shy. This isn't some watered-down mall food court nonsense. This is a Caesar that's been through something.

Lettuce? Fresh. Actually fresh. Not that sad, limp garbage. This has snap. This has life.

Wrap it all up tight, no mess, no excuses. Every bite hits. No dead zones. No'just bread' moments. Respect.

Honestly?
This thing feels like someone in the kitchen gives a damn. & that's rare.

Would I eat it again?
Yeah.
Would I fight someone over the last one?
…depends how hungry I am, but it's not off the table.

Decent sandwhich, not great. Fresh ingredients & good balance. However the flavour is lacking, the lettuce should have dressing on it. The bread definitely needs improvement, its too crusty & dry. The vibe & decor inside is nice. If they fix the bread & add seasoning & dressing to the veggies, it has potential to be a top sandwhich spot in montreal, but for now, Bossa is still king.

Decent sandwich, except the bread was definitely not fresh. The person manning the counter called the orders / names out in a very quiet voice & let your sandwich just sit on the counter when you didn't hear them. In my opinion, they did a poor job at this very simple task.

But the sandwich is still good, in spite of the hard/old bread. Worth a visit if you're around, but not worth a dedicated trip.

It was our first time, we had the porchetta & it was tasty & fresh, fast service as well, don't miss the house artisanal beer, it hits the point!

This place kind of reminded me of BOSSA in Verdun. Different vibe & sandwich options though. I ordered the Turkey Club & it was gooooood. The sandwich was hefty, filled with delicious fresh ingredients. & the bread was really nice too! Crunchy crust with a nice soft body. As Arnie said,'I'll be back!'

On the plus side, they have at least two vegetarian options. However, be ready to like olives if you take the végé sub! It's so powerfu l that in a sandwich with at least ten other ingredients, it's impossible to pick any other. & if you get a lucky bite, it's honestly pretty tasteless, which is surprising with those peppers & onions.

On the plus side, service is nice & quick & the ingredients seemed all quite fresh. But if you don't eat meat there are better Italian options in the city for cheaper.
