My bestie & I are visiting from Indiana, USA. This is the first bar we stopped at on our trip. Tim gave us a list of great spots to visit while we are here. He was so friendly & helpful with recommendations. Tim made us some delicious l'abricot melbas. cool guy, cool place! would absolutely recommend!
Excellent service & drinks! Our servers were friendly & informative & we really appreciated the creative cocktails & beers. We also loved the music & overall energy in the space.
After visiting Canada from Australia for three weeks & finishing my journey in Montréal, I was looking for a special place for my final dinner abroad.
Projet Pilote was the perfect choice, all the staff were extremely friendly. They uderstood of my inability to speak French & happily explained all aspects of the menu for me, helping me select the best food & drink pairings.
I selected the $45 tasting menu which included a delicious three course meal with dishes I'd never tried before.
In addition to the wonderful food, I was delighted to meet Jacques, my new favourite bartender. He looked after me for the whole evening & gave me the opportunity to sample house brews so I could make an informed choice. Jacques also turned cocktail preparation into an art form making it entraining to watch & being a great conversationalist during the process.
I usually don't visit the same place twice while travelling as I like to explore as much as possible but I had such a fantastic experience that I know I'll be back the next time I'm in Montréal, thank you for providing the perfect end to my trip!
P.S. This review is two years late, but the memory of how good my experience was has stayed with me for that whole time, & I wanted to share it :)

I went wirh some friends to celebrate my birthday & the team made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Jeanne, Elliott & Ben were very accommodating, made us feel comfortable & very welcome. This is definitely one of my favourite places in Montreal & the team makes the whole difference.

My fiancé & I had the BEST experience here. A+ food, service, & atmosphere! We were visiting Montreal from Boston & spontaneously chose Projet Pilote for dinner (based on the reviews!) while we were a few blocks away at Quai des Brumes, after enjoying a wonderful folk duo's set. From the moment we walked in, it was such an enjoyable evening! We shared a fun laugh with the friendly host about how we speak English but we enjoy practicing French. Our server Ben was awesome! He made us feel so comfortable, like we were all friends right away! My cocktail, l'abricot melba, was unique in the best way. Our dishes, the striped bass & the Toulouse sausage, were both such delectable combinations of flavors. We appreciated the smaller portion sizes; it was the perfect amount of food! The sauces were so tasty that I joked to Ben I wanted something to soak up the leftover sauces on our plates & he offered to bring us bread. I said no thanks, but I actually should have said yes to the bread because the sauces were that good! We then made room for a mouthwatering chocolate mousse that we paired with a dessert wine. C'etait parfait!
Best bar in the plateau, super friendly staff , amazing food (specially the smash burger & gourmet fries) great cocktail selection & the beer is always perfect!
Excellent experience, especially the helpful & friendly staff! All the entrees & drinks we ordered were fantastic. Project Pilote is definitely a high point of our visit to Montreal!
I'm a regular & I can say this is definitely somewhere to have a drink to catch up with a friend or have a simple nice date. If you come to just pass by & have a cocktail, this is definitely the place. If you're here to also eat, you won't be deceived! They make both their menu & their cocktail menu seasonal (with & without alcohol). The head bartender also makes his own non alcoholic liqueur so for the people that don't drink, this is your place! The creations there are as unique & as personalized as possible. The entire staff is friendly & I always end up in a small conversation with each & every one of them. I also pay different totals every so often so I won't put a specific price but I promise you won't be deceived at Projet Pilote!
