I've been a loyal customer of the Poulet Rouge in Espace Montmorency for a long time, but after my recent visit, not anymore. For the first time ever, I was told that tzatziki now counts as a garniture & that I had to pay extra for it, something I've never been charged for at this location before. The staff insisted on the charge without any explanation or consideration, which was surprising & honestly frustrating. I was going to dine in but decided to take out because of the ugly looks I was getting by the employee serving me.. Made me uncomfortable more than anything.
I paid the extra fee, but that interaction was enough for me to decide I won't be going back to this location. The Chomedey branch is far more professional, enthusiastic, & generous, & they actually treat their customers with respect. This experience at Espace Montmorency was incredibly disappointing..

Tasty & Filling - Great for a Quick Bite
I stopped by Poulet Rouge near the Salle André-Mathieu in Laval & once again, I wasn't disappointed. I ordered a poutine with Volcano chicken, topped with black olives, fried onions, shredded cheese, spicy mayo, & garlic sauce-& it was just as delicious as I remembered from my usual location at Galeries d'Anjou.
The portions are generous, & it's a perfect spot for a quick, satisfying meal on the go. Flavors are bold, & everything was fresh & well-balanced. Definitely a reliable option when you're in the area & want something flavorful without the wait.

We went to Poulet Rouge & really appreciated that the restaurant stays open late on Sundays, unlike many of the other places in the area. The location is also great, set in a very nice & strategic spot.
The chicken bowl was delicious, with generous toppings & great flavor.
What we didn't enjoy as much was the service. The staff didn't seem very friendly & appeared rushed while serving us, even though we were the only ones there. Maybe it was because we don't speak French very well, but it felt a bit uncomfortable.
Other than that, the food was really good & definitely worth trying.
