What a disappointing experience I had at Magpie a few weeks ago... ordered the mortadella pizza (which at $25 is already expensive enough on its own) with a gluten-free crust (the most expensive GF extra I've ever seen). I received a pizza with a couple paper-thin slices of mortadella & barely any visible cheese on it. At that price, I would've expected far more toppings. The GF crust was good, very decent texture, although a bit sweet for my taste - but definitely not amazing enough to justify a $7 extra! I was really looking forward to being able to eat at such a hyped-up place, but at that price I did not find it worth it.

Had a great time with my father. We had 3 different pizzas. Our favorite was the Italiano.

Shooting my shot here: I do commercial insurance & if ever you are interested in getting a second opinion on your current insurance plan for the pizza shop let me know.

At the end of a Wednesday evening dining in Mile End, we stopped, ordered the Bolognese & a tiramisu to go, & sat at the cute bar for a glass of wine. We met Matthew & Clara, had a wonderful conversation & simply enjoyed the ambiance. The food was delicious when we got back, but we'll remember the hospitality of them both at least as much as Magpie's food.
