Les barbecues familiaux ont toujours été le point culminant de chaque été, cuisiner de la bonne nourriture et créer des souvenirs avec nos amis et notre famille sont les moments que nous recherchons avec enthousiasme ! Avec tout le plaisir, nous redoutions de dire au revoir à la fin de la soirée. Une fois la pandémie arrivée, nous n'avons plus pu profiter de la compagnie les uns des autres. Au lieu de nos réunions traditionnelles, nous envoyions de la nourriture et des colis de soins à nos proches pour leur faire savoir que tout irait bien. Après les excellents commentaires de notre famille, l'idée de Pimento's est née !
Dans l'ensemble, Pimento's Cuisine des Caraibes est perçue comme l'une des meilleures et des plus constantes adresses caribéennes en ville, avec des saveurs authentiques mêlées à une touche moderne, des portions généreuses et un bon rapport qualité-prix; les plats comme le jerk chicken, le curry goat, les fish cakes, les patties et les accompagnements tels que le riz et pois, les plantains et les festivals reviennent régulièrement en tête pour leur fraîcheur et leur goût marqué. De nombreux avis soulignent la cuisson du poulet, le niveau de saveur et la variété qui donne une impression de repas fait maison, et le caractère halal est fréquemment mis en avant. Certaines critiques évoquent toutefois des points à améliorer, notamment une expérience de service parfois inégale, des heures d’ouverture limitées et des délais, ainsi que des remarques sur l’attitude du personnel ou sur des détails comme le choix des accompagnements. Ordered from here for the first time yesterday. Food was amazing! Jerk chicken, fish cakes, & their pepper sauce is fire!!! Plaintains & rice & peas weren't cooked as much as I like it, but still giving 5 stars for food because the rest was that good. Service was fast & friendly. Will definitely visit again.
Update: changing my review from 4 stars to 3. Have been eager to revisit this place & I have to say today I was very disappointed. I ordered the fish cakes but was not given the sauce which quite frankly is the best part. They also had quite a few bones. The festival was hard & dry, inedible. The chicken was not as good as last time. Less meat on the bones & a bit dry. Overall, felt like I was eating leftovers. Also would've preferred the coleslaw over macaroni salad. Wasn't asked which one I want & I really didn't enjoy the macaroni one unfortunately.
Best chicken ever I had in my whole life the chicken was super delicious & juicy. I recommend everybody to come here. Amazing food amazing customer service even the lady she brings the food outside while I was smoking outside. it was busy inside & they make the order less than 10 minute even rice was cooked perfectly not even one single rice was a dry. in the beginning, you will think the quantity of the food is not enough, but after you eat, you will be full.❤?❤?❤?❤?

Excellents plats, tout est délicieux. C'était une première expérience de ce restaurant pour emporter. Nous avons tout aimé (Goat curry & Jerk Chicken). À refaire!
The jerk chicken was amazing. However the rice was stale, the fish cakes didn't even taste like fish it was too doughy. We also got the goat curry plate do not recommend. Got few pieces of goat not worth your money.
Take out only. Nice flavours & well prepared. Jerked chicken or oxtail, or jerked salmon, or curry, all very flavorful & not too spicy. A nice visit to the west indies that you can take home. Try the fish balls.
Just tried this place for the first time today & it was incredible. Caribbean food isn't easy to get right, but they nailed. Everything was fresh & well seasoned. I ordered the half fried chicken half jerk chicken plate, curry goat plate, & 12 fish cakes, all for $54.95 tax incl. It was a great price & very generous portions. & most importantly, they didn't say'we nuh have dat' like most Caribbean restaurants do lol. Will definitely be going back & recommend to anyone looking for some good Caribbean food.
My husband & I recently ordered a small jerk chicken plate with oxtail gravy on the side. We've tried many Jamaican spots around Montreal, & this one really nailed the flavours. The jerk chicken was smoky (down to the bone!!!) & packed with authentic spices (& so was the oxtail gravy). A pleasant surprise was the fluffy festivals they included-def not the usual packaged kind. Wait times are to be expected. Only critique I have, I would have liked more rice .We'll definitely be ordering from here again.

I went to eat there because my sister said the food was delicious. It was good except for the rice. The rice & peas had no flavours at all. I'm used to eat rice & peas but it was not it.. The bbq jerk chicken & the fried chicken was bomb. I also really liked the beef patty & the fried flour. I would recommend it except for the rice & peas.
I recently visited one of the few halal Caribbean restaurants in Montreal, & I have to say, the food is absolutely AMAZING! From the perfectly seasoned jerk chicken to the flavorful rice & peas, every bite was a delight. Being one of the only halal Caribbean spots in the city makes it even more special for those of us looking for a place to enjoy this unique cuisine. That being said, I did run into a bit of an issue during my visit. Yesterday, I ordered five plates for my group, only to be told at the end that they had run out of food. While this was disappointing at first, the owner of the restaurant went above & beyond to make up for the situation. They generously compensated us & made sure we left feeling taken care of. It was clear they genuinely care about their customers, & their effort turned the whole experience around. Despite the hiccup, I highly recommend this place. The food is top-notch, & the customer service is exceptional. It's a must-try if you're in Montreal!
I've been looking for a place with good food & my first time Ordering from here all I have to say is wow! Played it safe with the chicken got jerk & fry bbq .listen to me you won't want to share. All the way from Toronto & this place can come out there & set up shop. I'll definitely order again hoping to make it there 1 day. Forgot my gravy was the only thing. The chef deserves whatever they want.
not exactly the type of place you'd dine in at, since it only has a small table that fits 2 people in the corner. did that stop me & my friend from taking the only 2 spots in the restaurant? it did not. anyways, food's amazing, workers are great people. ordered the goat curry & my friend got the jerk chicken. the flavour on the jerk chicken was insane. if you had to chose between the goat curry & jerk chicken (assuming you've never had either), definitely pick the jerk chicken you won't be disappointed
Had the jerk chicken plate & it hit the spot. Chicken was tender & had the right amount of spicy. Absolutely crushed the plate & will definitely be back for more.
Everything about this spot was great. I wished they also had chicken patties & offered family sizes for jerk chicken! A plate should come with plantains & dumplings, that's a must.
