Family BBQ’s have always been the highlight of every summer, cooking good food and creating memories with our friends and family are the moments that we thrive for! With all the fun, we dreaded saying goodbye at the end of the night. Once the pandemic hit, we were no longer able to enjoy eachother’s company. Instead of our traditional gatherings, we would send food and care packages to our love ones to let them know that everything will be okay.. After the great feedback from our family, the idea for Pimento’s was born!
Overall, Pimento's Cuisine des Caraibes earns high marks for consistently flavorful jerk and fried chicken, tender meat, and bright, satisfying sides, with large portions and good value that keep customers returning; the menu's variety, including goat, fish cakes, beef patties, and even oxtails when available, along with an open kitchen, clean space, and friendly staff, creates a warm, welcoming vibe, though a few orders have drawbacks such as coleslaw with an off odor, occasional dryness in jerk chicken, smaller fish cakes, and sides that can be underseasoned; takeout is the norm with Laval and DDO locations, and despite some days with limited hours or no dine-in seating, many praise the consistency, the effort to offer weekly specials like Friday red snapper, and the sense that this spot is among the best Caribbean takeout options in the area, earning strong recommendations to try more dishes and to keep coming back.
It's so exciting to finally have a new Caribbean spot in the city! You usually have to head further south or west in Montreal to find authentic Jamaican food, so it's really nice to see Pimento's Cuisine open a location in Laval.
I tried the fried chicken, jerk chicken, & BBQ jerk chicken. Everything was juicy, packed with flavour, & cooked perfectly. I'm partial about the rice (I'm Haitian 😅), but theirs was beautifully fragrant with coconut & thyme..really good! I tried festivals for the first time, love it! Sweet plantains & gravy sauce were okay. The cod fish fritters were crispy without being greasy, with just the right kick of spice🌶?🔥
The only thing I didn't really enjoy were the side salads (coleslaw & macaroni); I personally prefer them more savory, & these leaned on the sweeter side. But overall, everything was delicious & I'll definitely be ordering again!

Le service était impeccable, la gérante du restaurant m'a offert un excellent service & que dire de la nourriture!!! C'était un délice & des grosses portions. Un rapport qualité prix qui se fait rare de nos jours!!! Je recommande & je vais retourner c'est certain ❤?
We purchased two Jerk chicken meals for takeout. The chicken was delicious , well seasoned & juicy however the coleslaw had an odor (similar to when food is left out for several days ) Not sure if its because we ordered closer to closing time because Ive never had any issues with previous meals.
Je suis venu dans ce restaurant avec ma femme pour essayer, mais notre expérience a été très décevante. L'accueil a été particulièrement désagréable. La dame qui nous a reçus, une femme assez grande, ne parlait pas du tout français, ce qui est surprenant dans un restaurant au Québec. Son attitude a été très irrespectueuse : elle nous a parlé de façon agressive & nous a même crié dessus.
Nous avons finalement réussi à passer notre commande, mais la nourriture était très mauvaise. Le plat semblait mal préparé, sans goût, comme si des éléments essentiels avaient été oubliés. Honnêtement, j'ai eu beaucoup de difficulté à manger.
En résumé, entre l'accueil très désagréable & la qualité de la nourriture, l'expérience a été extrêmement négative. Je ne recommande pas cet établissement.
How do you forget to put ANY jerk sauce on a jerk chicken plate ? There was no bite,kick or heat at all in the chicken 😂 The place was not busy at all when I placed my order... Absurd. & portion was feeble.
Amazing jerk chicken & really great service. I do find the prices a bit on the high side compared to other Caribbean spots but the food is definitely tasty. I'd also love to see the oxtails come back even just once a week would be great !
Best Caribbean food out there. Consistently well prepared. I will always choose this... The variety in the menu has me on the perfect rotation.⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?
