We decided to go for Vietnamese. We didn't regret it at all. It was a fantastic, not to expensive, & a great experience. Would surely recommend it.
I had low expectations coming in. Fewer options than a classic Vietnamese pho resto. Iced espresso was served blended instead of separate condensed milk & espresso. Small amount of fresh basil & sprouts with pho. However the broth was fairly fragrant & was served hot.
Absolute must visit! I ordered the LQS special pho & vietnamese coffee, both of which were very flavourful & incredible. The restaurant is beautiful with a great atmosphere & our waitress was very lovely. It's the kind of meal you enjoy so much that as you're half way through, you're already dreaming about the next time you come back!
It was literally the best Vietnamese food EVER!!! Soooo good! Especially the egg roll & the Pho. Very nice & clean. Also the staffs were really kind & nice to us.
I came across Pho Ly Quoc Su in one of my walks. I had never had Vietnamese food before, but I was hungry & curious, & I'm so glad I entered this restaurant. I visited there twice & both times the staff were so incredibly polite (the most polite staff in MTL I would say). The food tasted absolutely amazing & reminded me of the food we have in Brazil (although different, shares some similarities). I became a fan. The two times I went there I had the lunch menu with soup & beef & white rice (unfortunately I don't remember the correct dish name) but it was so good & nutritive also. During trips we tend to not be able to eat so healthy, but in Pho Ly I truly felt like I was eating appropriately & at home. So so good. I totally recommend & plan to come back before the end of my stay in MTL.
I went here on my business trip & was deeply in love with it. The quality of food was amaaaaaazing. Sooo authentic as I'm a Vietnamese. Location is great, decoration so lovely that I thought I was brought back to a corner of Saigon.
I ordered the Vietnamese sandwich, poor quality, barely stuffed with meat plus very expensive $17 😬
Atmosphere & service were great. Pho had a slightly gamey aroma, salad roll relied too much on the sauce. The menu is conservative compared to other Vietnamese places. I will try more items & update my review. Staff were fantastic.
This place is conveniently located & ambience is charming. We had veggies pho & chicken pho. The broth was good & went well with the well-cooked chicken. The attentive & friendly staff made the dining experience pleasant. Overall, a great spot for good Vietnamese food with excellent service.
We checked this place out before going to the HABS-LEAFS game & we all were so so happy we did!! First of all, we are picky eaters when talking about Vietnamese foods, as we can cook well & we know well what authentic northen Vietnamese foods mean. This place meets our high expectation, one of us even said "Tô phở ngon chuẩn vị nhất từng an ở Ca!" (The most delicious & authentic Pho I've ever eaten in Canada!") Kudo to the Chef! Second - great great location & views! Right in the middle of the busy downtown shopping St. Catherine Str., with a stunning view over the square from the 2nd floor window. Million dollar view no doubt!! Third - the restaurant decor was super cool, a lots of adorable corners to check in. We loved every details of the decoration, very impressive!! & last but not least - excellent services. I hope there are more stars to give to Pho Ly Quoc Su, should be the best 5 star review I have given so far. Thank you!
Glad to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant downtown. My pho with rare beef was served with cooked beef. I wonder if there was a lack of synchronization between front & back of house. If it sits too long in the pass, the the thinly sliced beef cooks. The service was ok , but definitely needs work. As a lone diner, I do not need 2 waiters watching me eat, whether they were looking at me or behind me, they needed to be more discreet. & where were they when I was trying to get my bill to pay & leave? I am of average height, the booth side of the table is too high so one has to bend a little too much over to eat. The other diners around me were in the same predicament. The spa-like covers of popular songs was a bit loud with only 6 people in the restaurant & also set a weird atmosphere: is it a spa or a vibrant new restaurant? Also, English-speaking staff only? That's why I'm writing my review in English to make sure my review is understood. With these small adjustments, things should pick up.
Quaint & comfortable place tucked in a corner of Phillips Square & Saint-Catherine W. Modern & charming decor, but the best part is the food. Ordered their new Bun Cha dish & it didn't disappoint. Not the same I had in Hanoi, Vietnam but it's very tasty. Generous portion of rice noodles, some veggies & delicious pork patties & grilled bacon. The sauce is really delicious. I was surprised how affordable it was in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants.
I can't afford the best car, the best house, but I can still eat the best Vietnamese pho Soup is tasty with a lot of noodles, but it is not recommended to order beef stew pho, soup made with carrots, taste a bit over sweet.
I came this week on a thursday & i had the best vietnamese food . I took well done pho & it was amazing. Also the server was nice & clean ( btw i like her braid) also she was very quick & she gave us all what we need , she made sure for me to have halal option. 11/10 . The vibes are so cozy. I will definitely come again & again.
An excellent Vietnamese restaurant situated downtown serving authentic pho & other dishes to warm up particularly in the winter. I also have to specially commend the restaurant for having exceptionally helpful & friendly service, as well as a pretty decor. Dishes are served hot & quickly. Pop in if you need to warm up over a bowl of pho!
The service was good & the atmosphere of the place was pleasant.
We ordered a bun bo hue & a pho. The soups lacked flavor & authenticity. The meat was good but the pieces were small.
If you ask me, it wasn't worth the price since there are better Vietnamese alternatives in Montreal.
I have tried really hard to find a place where I can have Vietnamese food with original Vietnamese flavors, & eventually I found one which match my difficult demands. We ordered all the significant dishes like Bun Bo Hue, Pho & Com Tam, they all have amazing tastes. The owner of Ly Quoc Su Restaurant is super friendly & hospitable. Staffs are also very friendly & well taken care of customer’s need. Someone said the price is high but to me for this service & food quality, the price’s itself worth everything. Highly recommended when you travel to Montreal.
