Paul Patates reads like a nostalgic Quebec casse-croute with a focus on classic fast food and a strong poutine game. Reviewers praise the poutine for crispy fries, fresh cheese curds, and a rich, well balanced gravy that sometimes carries a touch of sweetness, while the spruce beer is repeatedly hailed as a standout, a signature beverage people seek out, though one review notes it tastes more like root beer. The hot dogs are described as steamed with soft buns and generous garnishes, and burgers are often singled out for juicy patties and toasted buns. The overall vibe is retro and welcoming, with an old school feel and transfixing ambiance for those who appreciate a simple, honest diner experience. Service is quick and prices are reasonable, and many say the place is a must visit for a taste of classic greasy spoon charm, even if fries can be uneven and hours occasionally close early, so checking ahead is advised.
If you're craving a good old-fashioned poutine just like in the good old days, Paul Patates is the place for you! The portions are generous, the value for money is excellent, & the service is pleasant. A classic that never disappoints. A must-try!

A classic corner casse croute, one of a dying breed. Excellent frites, good steamies, & a much more pleasant dining experience now that they changed staff to a new less drama breed of counter staff.
I'm giving this place five stars because it offers a great experience if you're seeking to get a couple of steamies & some fries just like the good old days.
The hot dogs & garnishing were very fresh, & taste it just like the typical Lester steamie. Unfortunately the fries were a bit disappointing. Not sure what oil they use but it had very little flavor, overly browned & soggy. They do not rank amongst the top fries if you're looking for the typical Quebec style.

This is diner food perfection! The double burger was phenomenal. The two beef patties were perfectly seared & incredibly juicy, served on a fresh, toasted bun.
Equally great were the fries-thick-cut & tasting truly homemade.
It's a classic, satisfying meal executed flawlessly.
