Review Summary

Patate Ben-Venue draws mixed reactions from diners, with some describing it as a classic roadside stand offering quick, satisfying junk food and others finding the portions small and the value lacking. Several reviews praise the poutine, highlighting crispy homemade fries, rich gravy, and cheese curds, and noting a clean, simple atmosphere and dependable service on busy days. However, some diners complain about price for portion size and say the poutine did not always meet expectations or cravings, while others mention overcooked potatoes or ordinary cheese in less favorable visits. Tipping is a recurring topic, with at least one remark about being pressed for a tip and curt responses when none is left. Payment methods are noted, including cash or debit only, and a couple of anecdotes about card acceptance or unusual currency handling. Allergies or dietary needs are addressed in parts of the feedback, including gluten free poutine options. Overall, Patate Ben-Venue appears as a reliable quick bite option between Montreal and the north, delivering strong flavors for many yet not immune to criticisms about value, consistency, and service.

Absolutely the best poutine I've ever had, incredible flavors, the calculated gravy mixed with the local cheese curds & the homemade fries, absolutely insane.

Wesh gros, c't'à la meilleure poutine j'ai mangé d'ma vie, là! Les saveurs sont ouf, la sauce brune elle tape fort avec l'fromage en crottes pis les frites maison, c'est d'la folie furieuse, wesh!

If you're looking for an old-school roadside poutine stand, this is your place. I stumbled upon it while getting lost in Mt. Tremblant & I'm so glad I took a chance. Head's up: I was gruffly told by the woman running the register they only take Canadian debit cards or cash. Thankfully she took my USD, but be prepared. The original poutine was great- perfect fries, tasty gravy, good curds.

Gluten free poutine! Classic poutine was very good. A nice treat for those of us who rarely get a dedicated fryer & gf gravy. The servings are a bit small & had I known, I probably would have splurged for double cheese.

We stopped there on our way back home from Mont-tremblant, we ordered a poutine & it was so good. Everything was on point gravy, cheese, fries. Definitely worth the try 💯
