I recently dined at Palomar & tried several dishes. The tuna cheeseburger was absolutely delicious, & the swordfish bacon was a unique & interesting addition-in a good way! The lox bagel was very filling, with a rich & flavorful cream cheese, though the smoked salmon was a bit chewy & fishy for my taste. The fries were perfectly seasoned, & the aioli was a standout accompaniment. The service was excellent; our server was very nice, attentive, & polite. The interior & patio are also beautifully designed, making for a pleasant dining experience overall. I'd give it a 3.5/5!View more
Not the best. Inside is a nice decor. I'm sure the raw bar is good but the fried plates are very small portions for yes you guessed it, the price. The Caesar salad is four or five leafs of romaine. Nice presentation, fresh raw sardines was a nice touch. Sadly it was still not enough for a good experience. Staff was very cold. No thank you no have a good day once paid. Just a cold back turned. I've never experienced this. Maybe it's because I only gave a 15 percent tip?View more
The food is very good from the oysters to the fritto mixto & the charcuterie plate. Everything was very tasty & we enjoyed the scallops & the muscled the most. They tasted fresh & great. The cocktails were also great. Service was a bit slow the day we went but the place was full, this still didn't taint our experience because the food was worth the wait.View more
Wonderful experience in Jean Talon market. This place seems to be very popular, the tables were almost never empty. The drinks (innovative cocktails) were very tasty & the food was fresh & made with love. Frito mixto was an amazing mix of seafood & fish & the sauces that came with them were perfectly complimenting the food.View more
We ordered eggs Benedict with crab & the sea food cornet. The quality of the food was alright. The bechamel sauce was cold by the time it got to the table & the seafood was a bit overcooked. After ordering, our drinks came after 25 & the food came another 20 minutes after that. After our plates were picked up by another waiter, the waitress spent the better part of the 20 minutes talking it up to her colleague before going to see another table & passing the buck to another colleague to take the bill, because she knew the service was bad. In the end it's a tourist trap. It's darned shame too, because the concept of a seafood brunch is cool. The breakfast cocktails were really good.View more

We stopped at Palomar at Marché Jean-Talon for a weekday lunch in mid-June 2024. Hands down it was the best restaurant meal of our four-day visit to Montreal. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with a dozen Canadian oysters, mostly from Nova Scotia. They were freshly & neatly shucked. Then we shared a fish charcuterie board consisting of gravlax & a couple of dry-cured tuna dishes. Highly recommended, top-quality fish at a very fair price!View more
Very slow service. Resto wasn't full, maybe 5 tables in all & yet it took over 40mins to get 1 benedict, 1 crab salad, & 1 lobster roll. Portions are extremely small & tasteless. Food needs more flavoring. Even when wanted to pay the bill I had to get up to get the attention of a staff member. Bill was 135, I paid 160 but I'll never go again. I think it's way overratedView more

View more
