Review Summary

Osmo X Marusan is described as a visually striking, club‑like cafe that blends Japanese inspired sandos, curry bowls and drinks with a strong coffee and matcha scene, attracting a young, studious crowd and often becoming a lively, crowded space. The atmosphere is frequently praised for its architecture, skylights and terrace, sometimes with a DJ or vinyl vibe, but the overall level of noise and activity can make it hard to study or have a quiet meal. The menu features crowd favorites like tamago sando, karaage sando and katsu curry, with matcha and hojicha drinks earning consistent praise, though some reviews note small portions, bland elements or variable quality and long waits during peak times. Service quality ranges from friendly and attentive to slow or uneven, contributing to mixed overall impressions. Taken together, the place shines for its unique vibe, drinks and creative sandwiches and is often recommended for a social visit or a first experience, while not being ideal for those seeking a quiet, quick meal or a predictable cafe routine.

Really cool vibe. Get there early! Yummy egg sando.

I'd suggest trying the karaage sando, but the tamago sando is quite overrated-it was pretty bland. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the matcha latte. The atmosphere was awesome, with R&B music adding a nice touch to the overall vibe.

The vibe & drinks are definitely great. I got the tamago sando with smoked salmon & unfortunately there were a few bones in the salmon. There are definitely a lot of better food options at the café but the tamago sando is a bit overhyped especially for the price.

Lovely space & design, it looks like a modern cafeteria & lots of space to study. Though they do limit your time to just 2 hours on their wifi. Would recommend getting their sandwich & doing some work while drinking a coffee. Got the egg sando sandwich which was nice though some sauce would have really given it more flavor.

Will come back again! Ambience 💯 very industrial & edgy, dark & bright at the same time. Dark enough that's laptop friendly 💻 , bright enough that you get sky view from skylights ☀️ Ordered an iced matcha latte 🍵 to start the day fresh, wish it could be bitter but good enough. 4.5/5 I had katsu curry for lunch, the skin is a bit overcooked & feel heavy but the inside meat very juicy & tender. I was hoping more curry in the bowl. & the bowl has a chip at the edge that's actually dangerous for the hands. 4/5 Background music might be a bit loud in the morning, some rock music was playing, I guess they want it to feel more hippy. But it can get even louder when more people come in later in the afternoon. There's outdoor patio to sit but limited seats available. 2hr max wifi connection per user per day. Overall a good place to take a break or having a sprint work/study session. Very friendly staff. Will come back again to try out the sando. Total spending + tip: $27 Overall 5/5

I was excited to try the food here since I love Japanese curry, & the sandos looked so tasty in the pictures. I went & tried the katsu curry & the karaage sando. To be fair, the sando was alright. Not the most appetizing cut of the meat, but that may not be a problem for everyone. Now, the curry, however...putting the also unappealing cut of pork aside, the real issue was just how bland the curry was. One of the blandest things I've ever tasted. Absolutely not worth the trip or the money I spent. I've made curry with store-bought curry blocks that tasted way better. Seriously: go to any asian grocery store, buy a box of Glico brand curry blocks, & make your own curry rice at home. It's not that hard to make, & it'll be more flavourful by a mile. Service was good: the staff was polite & friendly. Not much else to say there. As for atmosphere, well, it's loud & not that welcoming. There's an outdoor area that's much quieter, but it's very...I don't know...dingy? It's not landscaped, it's kinda gloomy, the tables are just picnic tables. Though actually all the tables were taken so my friend & I sat at what looked like a defunct bar. Not my scene I guess so giving it a neutral 3-star.

Trendy & busy, but ultimately the pork sando lacked seasoning.

Osmo x Marusan is an absolute treasure. The sandos here are genuinely incredible, with the Tamago Sando being my go-to-it's perfectly balanced & absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is relaxed yet vibrant, making it a great spot for anything from a quick bite to hanging out with friends. The creativity & care they put into everything really stand out. Do yourself a favor & try anything on the menu; you won't regret it!

Perfect spot to get some work done / catch up with a friend / stop for a quick bite. Find myself coming back over & over again. Their matcha latte is exactly how I like it, & their katsu curry/sando are super tasty.

Food is amazing, tamago sando is insane . There's a dj. Hard to find seating. The place is very noisy, everyone seems like they are fake working/ socializing but it's a vibe

Student oriented place good luck trying to get your favourite sando after 3:00pm The melon bread is not worth it :/ Try the strawberry sando if you are obsessed with anime girls

Definitely a hip place. The kaarage sando & the katsu sando were delicious. Definitely recommend. We also enjoyed the sencha, & the yuzu lemonade. Although the to-go cups do not hold up. Within 15 mins, the cups were warping. Service was good, & they worked fast despite the line. My only complain is that the space is very loud & chaotic. It's a fun space to hangout & enjoy music, but it's not relaxing. They have their own decibel meter, which was consistently measuring at 80 decibels.

This place really lives up to the hype! It is very pretty inside & the food is impeccable as well! I got their yuzu lemonade & their karaage sando which were both so good! I definitely recommend this place.

This is a great spot to go eat some Japanese inspired dishes as a snack or a full meal. Such a beautiful place. Tried the curry, the tamago sando, the katsu sando & the karaage. The bread was a little bit too sweet for my taste but was pretty balanced in the sandwiches overall. The katsu sando's piece of work was really though to eat, it did not seem to be tenderized in any way. The karaage was exceptional as was the curry.
