The food is tasty but not something I would come back for. I had the sandwich with just the eggs. It was a bit too salty even for someone like me who eats sodium like it's water. The lavender tea tasted pretty good but there were particles of what I'm guessing is tea, so it was a bit unpleasant to drink. The atmosphere is what I disliked the most. It's very dark inside, not all the tables are cleaned & the metal chairs & tables aren't the most comfortable.
If you're in Montreal or in the area, definitely worth a stop! Delicious food, delicious drinks, & super friendly staff.
There's plenty of seating to enjoy your meal & spend some time here + there's an outdoor area which is so nice too 😊
Really enjoyed my time here, will be back!
Tucked away in what almost feels like a hidden alley, Osmo x Marusan opens up into one of the coolest & most beautifully designed cafés I've visited. The modern interior is stunning, & once the sunlight hits the disco ball & reflects throughout the shared space, the atmosphere becomes something truly special. There's a reason there's always a line. The atmosphere for me is the biggest pull for this cafe.
We came early in the morning & tried the hojicha latte, matcha latte, the matcha with poured-over espresso, croissants, & both the chocolate & matcha cookies. The cookies were the standout from the pastry side-solid, satisfying, & definitely worth ordering. It's not seeet, right chewiness. The drinks were all very good, although I'd say Montreal already has many excellent cafés, so the beverages themselves weren't necessarily unique.
Another standout in this place is the overall experience from the crew, they were all fantastic-kind, welcoming, & genuinely helpful.
Brunch service starts at 11 AM, & we stayed to try the chicken katsu with rice & the pork katsu curry. Both bowls were crispy, tender, & beautifully executed. The biggest surprise was the chicken katsu: despite using breast meat, it was incredibly juicy & tender. They absolutely got it right. Topped it off with Hojicha tiramisu which felt good to seal off the appetite.
Taking everything into account-the food, drinks, service, & especially the atmosphere-this is easily one of the best café experiences I've had out of the hundreds that I've been to.
Excellent sandwiches (tamago & karage chicken are standouts), drinks, & the architecture is pretty fascinating too. Outside patio is cooler than you'd think, even in the hot summer, & very tranquil.
The vibes here are immaculate & I loved my drinks + sando! Such a cute spot to work (though a lot of the seating is social only) & it was super chill in the morning. Gets busy at 11 when the lunch menu comes up but it's worth it!
I only wanted a quick brunch item, so I swung by for the Tamago Sando after a wait of 10 min to order.
I actually liked the industrial vibe of the cafe, matching many of buildings & stations in Montreal, brightened up with the skylights & disco ball. There was more table space than expected from reviews, & I would def come back to work here.
Unfortunately, the Tamago Sando was just okay. It was a bit bland, nothing I'd strongly recommend to others. I didn't try the drinks this time around though.
The sandos are pretty good as are the drinks. Afternoons tend to be busy & usually involve a wait in my experience but is worth it.
very artsy place, if ur a music person there's a bunch of albums for sale & occasionally it seems like they have someone in to Dj. Drinks we're very good, food was also good.
loved the sandos, the drinks were also really nice. Would love to come again in the future, very cute spot. A bit hard to find seats though & very crowded
