Matcha was amazing. Egg sandwich really nice & so was the chicken curry.
Place was very busy & loud music so not somewhere I'd go to relax but would go often for lunch if I lived in Montreal.
The Japanese inspired menu is great, love the egg sando & the curries, & a big shoutout to the pickles, they were the perfect mouth refresher.
They got good egg sandwich & matcha latte! Comfortable atmosphere for solo travellers.
Cool decor & music. The matcha with chocolate is delicious & makes you want to come back for more. The salmon sandwich is another delight. Once I came with my laptop to work but the place is too loud & there is much food smell like eggs & garlic so it's not really a place for that.
My egg sando was so bitter & salty, the bread was wet. But staffs are friendly & vibe is nice
Un des mes cafés préfère à mtl. Really love the egg sandwich with or without salmon. I really recommend their chaï not a fan of matcha but looks like I should be.. 😂
Was super excited about the egg sandwich but got disappointed bc the kitchen only starts at 11am while the coffee itself opens at 10am. My flat white vanilla was very good & the hojicha is good for who likes matcha!
I have been to this place with my boyfriend, we had the famous egg sandwich, tea & coffee! Everything was delicious, the ambiance is soo fun! I came back last week for the Christmas market & again, the vibes are immaculate 💓
Cute little hidden next an old building & its underground. They have good music sometimes a bit loud but someone went to adjust the sound. Food was delicious. I really recommend the Tamago Sando egg sandwich. The sauce inside with the eggs were a great combination. Keep napkins near, it's a bit messy.
Ordered boiled egg sandwich, & had a matcha latte for the first time here. The sandwich was excellent, not over seasoned or soggy-nice & simple. The matcha was rich but not too heavy. The barista was very concentrated & careful while making it. The space was thoughtfully designed & clean without feeling sterile. Great experience overall.
My family came in August 2024 as we were craving Japanese egg sandos. To our surprise, the katsu sando was even better than the egg sando. The fillings were plentiful & flavourful, & we recommended this place to friends as well.
We passed by Montréal again on a road trip & stopped for a quick bite. Our second visit was still good, but the katsus were much thinner than the year prior (as evidenced in the attached photos). That said, I'd still recommend this place for anyone who wants to try authentic Japanese egg or katsu sandos.
The café has a really cozy & inviting atmosphere, but it's not particularly suited for families with young kids. It feels more like a hangout spot for teenagers to socialize or meet new friends.
I tried the matcha latte - it was decent, though I personally prefer a stronger, slightly bitter matcha flavor. For lunch, I ordered the fried egg sandwich & the pork chop curry rice. The sandwich was nicely seasoned & quite enjoyable. The pork chop, while tasty, wasn't the traditional Japanese-style breaded version - it lacked the crispy panko coating you'd expect from a tonkatsu. That said, the curry sauce was very flavorful & well done.
Overall, the food was good, but the portion sizes were a bit small for my appetite.
Great hangout/study space. Egg sando was bland & the bread texture is just okay (not fun to bite into); would recommend getting the Katsu sando in Chinatown instead. Chai Latte is also lacking flavor but not offensive.
Exquisite cafe: the food, the drinks, the vibes. Will be thinking about the egg sando for a while - it's just so perfectly jammy with the right amount of kick with the side of hot sauce. Matcha also deserves a shoutout: you can tell that it's higher quality matcha. Would definitely come try some of their other sandwiches & drinks again! Also worth noting that you can't order the sandwiches until 11AM.
I can't believe we have such a cool place like this in Montreal. The food just blows my mind. I had the egg sandwich, which was perfect. The environment-both outside & inside-is fantastic. For summer, it's just so convenient. The menu isn't huge, but the drinks & food are delicious. I'll definitely be back again!
The tamago sando (egg salad sandwich) looks better than it tastes. The concept of a scotch egg in a sandwich sounds cool but the execution was a bit underwhelming. It does not tasted bad but it's also quite forgettable. The mayo is def not what you typically get in a Japanese style sandwich, tasted quite bland & greasy. I think they still has potential, will prob go again to give the chicken & Katsu sando a try
The vibe was cool but def don't expect it to be quiet
Osmo X Marusan Café-Terrasse is an absolute gem in downtown Montreal! From the moment you step inside this stylish, brutalist-inspired space, you know you're in for something special. The vibe is vibrant yet cozy, with plenty of natural light, lush plants, & a welcoming atmosphere perfect for working, hanging out, or enjoying a meal.
But let's talk food-this café truly shines with some of the best sandwiches in town. Whether it's their famous fried egg sandwich or the inventive pork chop sando, each bite bursts with flavor & creativity. The menu also features delicious Japanese-inspired dishes like ebi curry & katsu curry that are perfect for lunch or a casual dinner. Pair your meal with their expertly crafted coffee or a sublime matcha latte, & you're set for a fantastic experience.
The staff are friendly & knowledgeable, always ready to help you pick the perfect drink or sandwich. In the warmer months, their terraces offer a lovely spot to relax with a drink, & the occasional live DJ adds a fun, lively touch to the ambiance.
If you want a unique café experience that combines excellent Japanese flavors, top-notch coffee, & a cool, social atmosphere, Osmo X Marusan Café-Terrasse is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their sandwiches-they're truly some of the best in Montreal!
Highly recommended for locals & visitors alike.
The most delicious egg sandwich I have ever had. The yolk was cooked perfect. The atmosphere is very hipster & unique. Lots of students doing work but the food is just too good! The chicken sandwich was also very very good.
I came here for a quick lunch. The place was very busy. You can tell it's a popular place among students. After ordering at the counter, they give you a number to place on the table & they bring your order to you when ready. The café is nice but quite noisy so it's not the ideal place to sit & study. I ordered the famous tamago sando. It was ok, not great. Apart from the egg, the rest of the sandwich was bland. Just too much bread. On the other hand, the chicken sandwich was very tasty.
