Review Summary

Osmo X Marusan is described as a visually striking, club‑like cafe that blends Japanese inspired sandos, curry bowls and drinks with a strong coffee and matcha scene, attracting a young, studious crowd and often becoming a lively, crowded space. The atmosphere is frequently praised for its architecture, skylights and terrace, sometimes with a DJ or vinyl vibe, but the overall level of noise and activity can make it hard to study or have a quiet meal. The menu features crowd favorites like tamago sando, karaage sando and katsu curry, with matcha and hojicha drinks earning consistent praise, though some reviews note small portions, bland elements or variable quality and long waits during peak times. Service quality ranges from friendly and attentive to slow or uneven, contributing to mixed overall impressions. Taken together, the place shines for its unique vibe, drinks and creative sandwiches and is often recommended for a social visit or a first experience, while not being ideal for those seeking a quiet, quick meal or a predictable cafe routine.

Such a cool spot somewhat secluded from the hectic city vibes. I also got lunch here which was the vegan curry bowl but was too hungry & didn't take a picture. Was Coffee was so good. Wasn't too impressed with the pastries though. Mostly cause my expectations were really high. But generally I give this place a high rating & would definitely go back!

came before the kitchen opened (at 11am) so we could only get croissants or cookies. the croissants were stale & clearly not fresh. have heard that their hot food is much better. on the other hand, the coffee was delicious. bonus points for being dog friendly!

Cute environment, good coffee, & the katsu sando was a unique & tasty combo. A little loud in terms of music, but still a good place to meet & have a conversation.

The food is really good for what they're charging. The coffee is very very good on any criteria you could measure it. The vibe is incredible. Such a great space to be in & hang out. The terrace out back is so cozy & comfortable. The service is out of this world. I don't know who put this place together but a lot of love went into creating it, & the team extends that love by making it all work.

Osmo is a must-try spot known for its flavorful & perfectly cooked sando & Japanese style curry. While grabbing a table during busy hours can be challenging, it's definitely worth the wait for the delicious food. Coffee & other bevs are great, too!

Went there for late lunch (week-end). It was difficult to find free seats for 2 persons (lots of people studying/working with their laptops there). The food came out quite fast & the service was good. I feel like the tamago sando is a bit too hyped, recommended for those who never tried it. The taste was normal to what I expected. The katsu sando & the curry was yummy. The best part was the coffees! Would come back just for the Hojicha latte (with white choco).

Nice place to sit & relax while enjoying the coffee & light food. Tried the Katsu sando & tamago sando as recommended. They are wonderful as mentioned in reviews. The dressings are the ones that make them standout.

Absolutely love this place, their tamago sando is phenomenal. The karage was also so tender & had a great crunchy coating. It's also one of the few cafes that has amazing drinks & amazing food! I'm a big coffee nerd & I usually find that places that serve food won't have quite as good coffee as a dedicated specialty coffee shop. But Osmo does both wonderfully & it's a treasure! It's a beautiful place, highly recommend their specialty lattes. The vibes are great for writing or any kind of productivity on your to do list, too.

Great place to catch a break to study or to just grab a quick bite &/or coffee. They explore with different flavor profiles in the coffee which promises to give you a different yet interesting experience when trying out their beverages. Great place!

A must if you're in montreal. We have a very good cafe selection & this one is at the top of the list. The atmosphere & decor are so welcoming & unique. The food is delicious & aesthetically pleasing. I recommend the iced hojicha latte, it's just sweet enough for someone who doesn't like coffee. The egg sandwich is very filling & not expensive for the quantity & quality you are getting. The eff & salmon one is my favourite so far, it's so comforting & tasty.
