Reviews for Onigiri Shop
Great dishes & a very warm, welcoming service. The only issue is that some of your employees don't seem to speak English or French very well, which makes communication difficult. Also, sometimes when we ask for additions to our dishes, we're told it's not possible because it's not in the register system. The staff often look a bit confused (likely due to the language barrier) & are very rigid about this. Everyone is kind & polite, just not very proactive in finding solutions. I even politely suggested they check with their manager, but the cashier just looked at me with a big question mark & didn't respond, which made the situation a bit awkward.
That said, the food is genuinely excellent & the atmosphere is lovely, so I'd definitely come back & hope to see things improve over time.
Typically I love the Onigiri shops in the city, super respectful employees & tasty food, but at the Mont Royal location there is one employee (the white girl) that ruins the experience for me every time. She moves so slowly no matter how long the line is & whenever she makes the rice it's overcooked. I know when shes working before even going in into the shop because she rarely ever picks up the ringing phone. (The other girls that work here are very kind, fast, & good at the job)
The food was great & the employee was very sweet. When we went there she was alone but she still worked very fast to serve all the customers. The food was fresh & honestly very fulfilling. Though if you think about eating there, this location only has 3 to 4 little stool so I'd recommend taking it to go. Overall, I recommend trying it & will go back again to try the other options!
We sometimes stop into thus shop & pickup a few onigiri for an after school snack. I'm particular fond of the umeboshi (pickled plum) onigiri. It's sour & tart, salty & sweet. The grandson loves the ramen egg onigiri.
The food is good & reasonably priced. It's an easy on the go meal. Quality is good, people are friendly there.
love this place i come here all the time the onigiri always saves my life
The rice was warm & nice & the onigiri was made with care. The store itself is very clean & the employees are kind. Best Onigiri Shop I have been to.
Very cute & cozy place, service is super fast & the onigiris are super fresh!:)
I changed my review from a 5 star to two because the onigiri is a fraction of the size now.
I used to like this place because they actually filled up the onigiri with substance (fish) but lately it's a cash grab. You will have 4 small pieces of salmon in your onigiri & 98% rice. You used to get 1.25$ worth of fish inside of the 5$ onigiri but now you will be lucky to have 25 cents worth of fish. I would go back & take a photo of my last onigiri but I don't think I will go there again. The service at least is still good. Was a good run while it lasted & I was a happy customer for a while.
These are really good but almost a little TOO big? I wish there were less rice & more filling
Absolutely delicious. We had the Fuji mountain & the Chicken Tama & both were incredibly filling & yummy for the price.
