Oncle Lee on Laurier is the kind of meal you keep thinking about long after you've left the table.
We started with fried calamari & shrimp - simple, but executed perfectly. Then scallops in XO sauce, & a ceviche so creamy & flavourful it stopped the conversation at the table. A strong opening act.
The spicy sesame noodles & garlic fried rice followed - both loved, both demolished. Fair warning: there's an aioli mayo on the rice that isn't for everyone. It wasn't for me. Didn't stop me from scraping every last grain.
Then came the highlight of the night: the five-spice duck platter. A refined spin on Peking duck - perfectly cooked duck breast served with pancakes, sauces, cilantro, peanuts, & chilli oil. Elegant & deeply satisfying. The kind of dish that justifies the trip on its own.
We finished with the pain perdu - French toast with ice cream. The right ending to a remarkable meal.
Michelin rated. The service is excellent & attentive throughout. If you're visiting Montréal, this is a non-negotiable stop.

Ce serait plus autour d'un 3.5/5 pour moi. Pour avoir essayé plusieurs restaurants du groupe Bouillon Bilk, c'était mon expérience la moins plaisante parmi leurs établissements.
Service adéquat, plats un peu trop salés qui finissent par manquer de contraste (& l'on a pris une grande variété de saveurs). La dorade sauce ponzu était tout au plus correcte, moi qui aime beaucoup ce type de préparation normalement. Deux plats (la dorade & le riz frit) étaient généreusement garnis de chou, ce qui n'aidait pas à la redondance.
Bref, peut-être que la permutation exacte des plats que l'on a commandé était sub-optimale, car j'ai beaucoup aimé mon expérience au Oncle Lee Kao sur McGill, ou que j'ai été simplement malchanceux.
Super bon service, la serveuse était vraiment gentille & attentionnée! La nourriture était excellente, surtout les bouchées de riz au saumon qui étaient incroyables. On va définitivement revenir :)
Quelle expérience mémorable! Je suis allé avec ma mère pour son anniversaire & c'était génial. Le service est impeccable & nous avons adoré tous les plats du début à la fin. Le canard aux 5 épices avec ces accompagnements est un incontournable à prendre absolument & le bian Dang est une belle option pour goûter à différentes choses à petit prix. Gardez vous de la place pour le dessert, car le pain perdu & la tartelette au chocolat valent vraiment la peine aussi !
The food is great, they all have a new combination & taste I haven't tried before but go really well with each other. The customer service is great, they usually come to ask how is it & pour water for us. The ambience is also great, but I think sometimes the music is too loud I can't hear what the waitress is saying. Price is not cheap but compatible with the quality of the food. We go 2 people & order 3 dishes, was enough for us to be full.
Finally a place that lives up to hype! A lot of crap on social media nowadays gaining popularity for nothing. But Oncle Lee delivers! The food was honestly mind blowingly delicious, it was original & imaginative & just an absolute pleasure. You're not going there to get stuffed on a budget. You're going there for a gastronomic experience that will leave you wanting more. Highly recommend.
This is one of those places in Montreal that you want to take your friends from out of town to, to show them what they are missing out on. I can't even single out one dish that stood out, because they all did! We had one of the set group menus, but also ordered à la carte. The staff were all amazing as well. Just go there.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Walked in at 8 pm on a Tuesday & were sat no problem. Service is fast & attentive!
We got the duck, sesame noodles & eggplant.
Duck platter was a great experience, with complimentary refills of the side sauces & veggie filling.
Sesame noodles on their own were just okay, but pared with the eggplant added much needed texture variety & punchy flavour.
We left full & satisfied!
The food is top quality & filling.
You will be surprised!
Drinks are solid.
Price is acceptable for the quality & portion.
It can be a little crowded & hot but worth the trip.

Belle expérience en famille. Le choix est limité mais de qualité. & les quantités sont impressionnantes, attention à ne pas trop commander (nous avons été bien conseillé par notre serveuse). Repas d'inspiration asiatique, avec des touches occidentales. & pas trop épicé. Belle adresse!
Everything was very tasty, but the cucumber salad needed a touch more acidity. Sorry guys but I paid more than I could afford for that meal...it needed to be perfect. The noodles were perfect I must admit.
