We were a group of four, which was a perfect number for sharing dishes & conversation. Everything was delicious, but the three dishes that blew my mind were the'Mushrooms with Miso Beurre Blanc', the'Scallops with XO Sauce', & the'Dou Ban Jiang Beef Tartare'. Another fun choice for sharing in a small group is the'5 Spice Duck Platter', where you make your own wraps combining an assortment of flavourful ingredients. I've been looking forward to eating at Uncle Lee for some time now, & I'm happy that it lived up to all my expectations. This is high end cuisine, artfully crafted using a scrumptious blend of several Asian influences, presented in a relaxed & pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!View more
What a gem of a restaurant, great service & cocktails & the food was delicious! Peter-Oliver was so knowledgeable about the menu & a great host! The Peking duck was a highlight & the scallops, the food ordered was for 3 people & the portions were good & not too small. Would highly recommend for a weekday dinner or a nice date spot tooView more
Enjoying some Peking duck-basically a masterclass in crispy skin, juicy meat, & the ultimate excuse to roll my food into pancakes like it's a duck burrito party!View more
I was skeptical of the modern Chinese but it was light & super delicious. Steamed oysters with black bean sauce was delicate, beef tartare was amazing, 5-spice duck came with so many condiments & the correct type of wrapper, garlic rice was not too oily & very flavorful. Mushrooms with miso buerre blanc was very good too. Best of all, they were super careful to warn us of what may have shrimp cos of the allergy that we had. Thank you.View more
Great place. Could be excellent with a bit more refinement. The food was excellent, service pretty good, atmosphere pretty good, mocktails very underwhelming. We had the soft shell crab bao buns, friend shrimp & calamari, 5 spice duck & the seafood chow mein. I would happily get any of those dishes again. I highly recommend the bao buns, 5 spice duck & chow mein. Really great quality food! The mocktails were expensive & I would have been just as happy with a water. It lacked flavour & dimension. I was so underwhelmed I didn't have more than a sip or two. The service was friendly but could have been more knowledgeable & attentive. Given my drink was 4/5 full the whole dinner, the waitress could have at least asked if I liked it let alone offer to spruce it up or change it. Overall I would happily go back but would stick to water, sake or wine to drink.View more
One of the best fusion Chinese restaurant in town. Everything was very delicious (the special on the menu tuna ceviche was very delicious). & I also highly recommended the duck breast too. Cocktails were good. The atmosphere is perfect to come with friends, family & dates. They have a very good menu (not lots of choices but enough to be satisfied). The restaurant is small (Mabe with 50 place seats). Don't forget to make a reservat cause this restaurant gets crowded very easily.View more
Everything was great! Nice staff & design. The food was really really good! I recommend the duck, it was cooked to perfection. The squid was fresh & perfect. The sauce of the sweet n sour ribs, I could litterally take a bath in it. I'm gonna go back for sure. *****View more
Cute hipster Chinese food. It's nice to have Chinese food be seen as more than cheap take out. I like some of the creativity they've taken with flavors while being familiar still. However the price & quantity you get is a little outrageous. It's Tapas style so you order & share as is typical with Chinese cuisine except you pay a heck of a lot more so if you're hungry. Be warned. The entrees & apps are a better deal. The spicy salmon rice came & tofu dip were really good & decently priced for its quantity. The hot pot for example, per person is definitely not enough as a main meal. Even if you were to eat it alone. The duck at I think 50$ isn't even a full duck. I don't regret it but I'm not sure I would recommend it or go more than once.View more
Dreadfully disappointing experience on a culinary level. We were a party of four, harbouring a healthy Sunday evening excitement for this place, only to be met with a mediocre, & perplexing, sequence of fusion missteps. Some things were fine: like the cucumber salad, but inevitably just that. The counterbalance was apathetic & carelessly detailed; like the cilantro garnish on our duck main, which was caked with so much sand to evoke Oka beach; or the calamari entrée...which is actually to die for...if you are a fetishist of deep-fried batter. Also delusional was the portion to price ratio. Finally we had to speculate if this restaurant was perhaps a conceptual endeavour; making a poignant statement about our appetite for empty gestures as the ultimate dish of capital logic.View more
The food is okay. A bit better than average. The prices don't make sense. Calamari $18 was ove-fried & small. Duck ($50) was nice but... maybe 4 oz. The vegetables were good at least.View more
Excellent food - must try the scallops & duck. Attentive service & beautiful atmosphere. Can't wait to be back!View more
Great atmosphere & service. Our waiter recommended the duck which we had with spicy noodles & greens with garlic. All were fantastic. We started with the calamari which was the best we'd ever had. A great place we'd highly recommend.View more

Okay folks this is an Asian Inspired restaurant. We appreciate the effort you put in, but this is Not Asian Fusion. Definitely Not Chinese restaurant. We had high expectations coming here, but unfortunately it didn't hit the spot. Friday night crowd was a mix of age groups with more leaning towards older crowd. Service was normal, nothing better than an average restaurant, & food was edible but overpriced for what it is. Here's a run down of what we got & a short blurb. Appetizers: scallop XO sauce & pork ribs. Scallop was decent probably 2 scallops chopped & tossed in a nice dressing. Pork ribs good flavour but barely any meat to enjoy. Main: Duck, spicy noodles, stir fried veggies with garlic. Duck was most likely cooked sous-vide & seared. Server with 6 wrappers, a bunch of sauces & toppings just like a Chinese taco. Duck was well cooked but all the remaining condiments were mediocre & not complementary to the dish. Wrappers are broken so they leak on your hand when you try to make a bite, the spicy sauce is sweet & not spicy, patte de volaille is so random. Noodles were very oily, tiny portion, below average flavour. Veggies with garlic was absolute disaster, overcooked 3 stems of Chinese broccoli soaked in butter. Yes butter & most likely heavy cream. This was the moment I knew the kitchen is in deep trouble & needs new leadership. No chef would approve for vegetables to be cooked this way. Legend says to use a wok for stir-fry.View more
It's a Chinese fusion cuisine merging recipes with Canadian culture, joining culinary forces offers truly novel flavor combinations & unique menu offerings that customers can't find elsewhere. 📌Plateau de canard aux 5 épices/5 Spice duck platter The moist, tender duck meat, added with sesame sauce & hoisin sauce, roll-it-yourself into a "duck crepes". Defiantly one of the best dishes in Uncle Lee! 📌 Nouilles epicees au sesame/Sesame spicy noodles Ma Jiang Mian inspired dish. Love the overload creamy sesame paste! A cozy & satisfying vegan dinner! 📌Pain perdu & crème glacée, lait condensé au thé/French toast & ice cream, tea, condensed milk Uncle Lee's Hong kong-style French toast inspired creation. We LOVE the taste so much!! Please don't miss out to order this dessert!! Uncle Lee has an excellent service. We had a wonderful experience.View more
Dishes were very good - had the duck, salmon & chow mein. Nice flavours but would prefer the traditional chow mein flavours it was too far from the norm. Also the duck was similar to pecking duck with the pancakes but flavour profile very different. Also prefer pecking duck. Should make these staple dishes more like they usually taste or create completely new dishes !View more
The newish Oncle Lee has developed a strong name for itself in a short period of time for a take on Chinese-style dishes. The overall ambiance when you enter Oncle Lee is warm & inviting, with the exposed brick wall contrasting against the deep red Chinese lanterns setting a very unique vibe. The menu is tight & not necessarily what you'd expect from a typical Chinese restaurant & here is where I need to point out that this is not a Chinese restaurant in a classical sense but a restaurant serving strongly inspired Chinese dishes. The portions are relatively small for sharing (again, a difference from the Chinatown restos) & you should be prepared to order multiples of the same if you are a large party. For our meal we Deviled Eggs (good), Fried Calamari (excellent...very good batter & sauce), the Scallops with XO Sauce (very good), Sweet & Sour Eggplant (very good & tasty), Sautéed Greens (good but not especially flavorful), Garlic Fried Rice (very good but for rice the portion was far too small), Crispy Noodle Seafood Chow Mein (very good), & the 5-Spice Duck Platter (good but not the typical Beijing version you may have had) & ending with the French Toast with Ice Cream (very good but a little out of place in a Chinese-style restaurant. Service was extremely friendly, helpful & attentive & we never had to want for anything on that front. Enjoy!View more
The food was amazing! The service was on point! Atmosphere was cool! But i give this restaurant a 3 star as it's not budget friendly! For the price the portions are too small! If ur going on a date it's fine. But for a family of four with children nope! Not for hearty eaters either! Mind urself if ur hungry don't go ! Otherwise it was a nice experience! Oh & can u plz add chicken on the menu as we had only fish & duck ( duck too pricey) to choose from as we don't eat pork or beef!View more
