Review Summary

Nozy is widely recognized as a standout destination for authentic Japanese cuisine in Montreal, praised for its fresh ingredients, intentional menu, and high level of culinary technique. Many diners appreciate the restaurant for its unpretentious atmosphere and its ability to consistently deliver high-quality sashimi, dons, and creative appetizers that honor Japanese traditions. While the shift from its original location to a more modern, chic venue in Little Italy has drawn mixed reactions regarding the updated vibe, the core quality of the food remains a major draw for loyal patrons. Despite some feedback concerning service inconsistencies, booking system issues, and varying portion sizes, the majority of diners characterize their experience as memorable and delicious, often highlighting the chef's precise preparation and the excellent value for the quality provided.

If asked to describe our experience at Nozy in one word: Incredible! (based on what we ordered)

The sashimi was very fresh! LOVED the omasake & grilled octopus!

My only complaint is that it was a little cold sitting next to the door so we moved to the bar instead. The best decision as they were fantastic seats which allowed a glimpse of the care behind each dish - thoughtful & beautiful presentation.

I came with a friend who had discovered it through her father after reading about it in La Presse. I used to go back when they were on Notre-Dame in St-Henri. It was charming then.

Now in Little Italy, the place still holds that same spirit. Unpretentious, a bit hidden, surrounded by great spots like Vin Mon Lapin & Pumpui. It fits.

The menu is intentional. Not overloaded.
I went with the chef's selection to try a bit of everything.

Honestly, nothing changed since 2016.
The quality is still there. The details still matter.

Updated decor, but same soul.

I finished every plate.
Had the house gelato.

Still thinking about it.
