It's a great place for sharing different plates with a group. Don't expect wow food! It is okay. The decor isn't the best, but overall it was a good experience..
From the moment I stepped into Star Noodles, I knew I was in for a memorable meal. The restaurant's downtown location is bright, spotless, & inviting, immediately setting a positive tone for what followed.
The shrimp noodles Tom Yum soup is a standout. The broth is incredibly flavorful-rich & aromatic without being overpowering. The shrimp are perfectly cooked: tender, succulent, & generous in portion. Each slurp reveals the delicate balance of salty, savory, & a hint of sweetness that keeps you coming back for more. The noodles themselves are springy & well-cooked, absorbing just the right amount of soup to deliver that comforting yet vibrant bite.
Beyond the dish, the service was genuinely lovely. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right moments & offering thoughtful recommendations. You can tell they take pride in hospitality, from the warm greeting to the careful presentation of the bill. It's a level of care that makes you feel valued as a guest.
Cleanliness stands out as well. The dining area is impeccably maintained, tables sparkling, & the kitchen visible in a way that reassures guests about hygiene & quality. It's refreshing to dine somewhere that prioritizes cleanliness as a core part of the experience.
Extras that deserve a shout-out: prompt service, well-timed course pauses, & a menu that thoughtfully caters to both seafood lovers & noodle enthusiasts alike. The overall value feels strong, given the quality of ingredients & the calibre of plating.
If you're in Montreal's downtown & craving a crave-worthy shrimp noodle soup, Star Noodles is a wonderful pick. It combines excellent flavors, friendly service, & a pristine environment to create a dining experience you'll want to repeat.
Rating: 5/5 stars
The price of the food for how generous the portions are & delicious the food is is unmatched in montreal! Been coming here for years now & have never been disappointed. Very friendly & accommodating staff, would recommend to everyone!😊
Amazing restaurant, great service, clean, fast, & very generous portions. I go there regularly since my first time!!
It's both affordable & the portions are really generous. The food tastes delicious, & the staff are very understanding & friendly. I highly recommend it.
A classic spot near the downtown core opened late. Affordable & generous portions.
Nouilles Star is hands down one of the best spots for noodle lovers! The atmosphere is cozy & casual, with a modern twist that makes it perfect for any occasion. The staff is friendly & attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The noodles are the star of the show - perfectly cooked, flavorful, & served in generous portions. I especially loved their [mention a favorite dish, if any] - the balance of spices & textures was on point. Plus, their broths are rich & comforting, just like you'd expect from an authentic noodle house. If you're craving delicious, fresh noodles, Nouilles Star is the place to be. Can't wait to go back for another bowl!
Great food for an excellent price. Highly recommend trying the General Tao Chicken & Fried rice. One order of each could easily be spilt between two people, the portion size was very generous. Perfect for late night dinning.
Great late night eats!
Was searching for restaurants open late & this popped up.
Super tasty & flavourful! What you would expect from your typical local Chinese restaurant but it exceeded my expectations surprisingly. They're generous on their portions too (huge bonus)!
Service was top notch. The gentleman serving was so friendly & had a warm attitude even towards the end of his long day shift.
The vibe is like what you'd get from a typical hole in the wall place, super clean & simple decor.
Overall enjoyed the food & service, would 100% recommend & come back again!
Lately, the rice portion has been getting so small for take-out meals. I got the peanut butter tofu which I adore, yet the rice portion they gave me came in a tiny container, barely enough for 1 person. I hope they can be more generous with the rice next time.
Nouilles Star in Montreal offers a delightful dining experience with flavorful dishes. I tried the General Tao's Chicken, chicken soup, & Cantonese noodles-each was fresh, perfectly seasoned, & satisfying. The portions were generous, & the service was prompt. A great spot for a comforting, casual meal in the city!
I went late night on Sunday. The service was quick & the portion was very generous. For what you pay, you get a lot. We took the rest to go since it was a lot. They give spices on the side as well which is nice.
im cantonese/chinese & i came with my non-asian partner for the first time to try this restaurant. we ordered two appetizers: (1) the crispy spinach (i had no idea what this was & curious to try it because he loves it), & (2) peanut butter wontons (again, not my thing & something i wouldn't order but he loved it). i had the beef chow fun & added broccoli (+$3) for veggies. i found that nouilles star was nice in that, it catered to both our palettes -- mine being more traditional chinese, & his being more westernized. the service was SUPER fast - all our dishes came out in 5 minutes, with generous portions. we finished the appetizers & went home with leftovers of the noodles. our total with tax + tips came to $39. definitely a spot to come to if you're looking for quick, tasty chinese food. although it's staffed by cantonese chinese folks, it's definitely more westernized than others. great spot for groups & families to share lots of dishes 🍜
Been going there for three years, food is mostly ok but got overcooked gen tao for first time, & very rude & aggressive treatment from a waitress id never seen, over three years my major problem is the service, waiters are pushy & rude often, the food & decor kept me going, but last time was too much, but since im the problem im going to give them a break from me, i work hard for my money, its not to get bullied when i am a kind generous person on top of it....
Hands down easily the Best Asian eatery in the Guy Concordia area. Tasty dishes, very generous servings & no crazy pricing like other newly opened Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. The service is also quick & good. This place is famous for their general tao & the beef on hot plate is also fabulous; the crispy noodles is the stuff that dreams are made of with thick gooey gravy & succulent shrimp & meat slices. The peanut butter dumplings are also very good. Portions are very generous so you'll surely leave with a doggy pack.
